UM's defensive talent is limited; this is especially problematic on the DL. I don't think UF's offense is very good, buuuuut, UF has a decent offensive line. UM doesn't have a good defensive line. They are going to have to load the box to stop UF's running attack. I don't think they can do it. I don't think Duke Johnson will run wild on UF. Morris is decent. I think UF probably wins. It will be closer than the Toledo game. If UM gets a few breaks, they could win.

    17-13 UF

Although my fear is Miami gets up 10+ early and our lack of passing game gets exposed.

As long as we hold the LOS Miami doesn't stand a chance. Duke Johnson is there playmaker. Morris doesn't have enough time to do much and I liked our Dline and our CBs to keep duke underconteol. So I say

    UF-34
    UM-10

I'm pretty sure Muschamp was content with not running the score up on Toledo.

I don't think that will be the case with Miami.

    41-10.

I think we play very much the same way ... It will be a close game because of the same mistakes we continue to make ... Miami will score against us and it will be a very close game. 21 gators 20 canes

Game will be close for 40-45 minutes. Florida's talent, depth and play calling gets it done and wears the canes out in the last 20 minutes.

    I'm thinking 31 - 14 UF.

Miami is not to be under-estimated, but I just don't think they're going to face a defense all season as good as our's, and I think our defense can really pressure them.

Miami is more of a pro-set style offense too, more to our defense's liking, and I have a feeling UF forces about three Miami turnovers and gets a defensive score in this game.

And we went totally vanilla against Toledo in the second half, and just IMO... I think Miami is a little bit better than Toledo on defense but about as good as the Rockets were on offense.

WR Latroy Pittman is suspended for the first three games from what I read. Is this correct?

This is Peace's 2nd year running UF's offense. He didn't show his hand against Toledo but he did last year and Miami has seen every second of those tapes. Miami knows what is coming. That doesn't mean they can stop it but they won't be surprised, I don't think.

I didn't see the kind of athletes on Miami's D I expected to see, they were worse than I thought, Miami, even bad Miami teams, usually have serious freaks of nature on D and I saw some fat bodies out there on Miami's D. They may be lacking depth, as UF fans think, which is another problem. On the other hand, UF's OL looked fit and trim to me, better than I was hoping for.

All of that should dash my hopes for a Miami statement game upset.

But, perhaps foolishly, I am maintaining hope. I think UF opens up throwing like they did against FSU and LOU last year to loosen up Miami's D. If it works it will be along day for the Canes as they will stay one step behind UF all day. But if it doesn't and it takes UF time to get into the groove offensively Miami has a real chance to win this thing. Duke Johnson is not Miami's only weapon. Miami's WR's are good enuogh to hurt UF.

UF's D is rock solid but if UF's O takes a long time to get going, and frustration sets in, UF's D will bend some. If Duke Johnson gets a few long runs off while that happens that again bodes well for the Canes.

Duke Johnson is in for a serious beat down, he is not the kind of back that will hurt Florida.

    33-13 UF wins

As long as we score first and keep the time of posession on our side we win. Miami has a couple playmakers that will want to show some things so we just need them to show it from the sidelines. Gators 27-canes 13

If the game is close...we suffer the prospect of Miami winning by field goals.
We can't allow them to have favorable field position with their kicking advantage.

I would love to see a response to this post. The gap in the coaching is larger than the gap in talent. It is not just Muschamp against Golden, the asst coaches at UF are second to none in the college ranks. Muschamp has won a bunch of games he was not expected to win. NO ONW expected us to win 11 games last year. COACHING.

The first game this year for UF was designed to for ball control against a prolific offense. Done and done.Heck, Herbstreit called it for Toledo and Toledo was smashed.

Miami has a lot of talent and many Gator fans have been concerned about this game for that reason. Good offense and unproven talent on defense.

    UF wins...with great coaching.
