If we only had a few more fumbles and interceptions on offense, we could have won this game. Can you imagine the score if Driskel was our starting QB and pulled another Miami game out of his helmet?

I didn't comment on Jeff because he was our starter - but after watching Tyler for just a few games I felt a lot more confident --
They both worked with the same O line -

This. For the life of me I cannot understand some of this staff's in-game personnel and play calling decisions, but I've got to think they come from the top down. Time to hit the reset button...NOW.

Without doubt people were too hard on Jeff. They wanted a scapegoat and he played a bad game against Miami, started poorly against Tennessee and the rest is history - doghouse for the Internet Crew.

I think most people can see now that it's more than just the QB - 16 offensive touchdowns in 7 games leaves us 97th in the Nation, just 31 TDs behind Oregon and rubbing shoulders with Kentucky, Idaho and Georgia State.

    Scary.

I agree with this as well. You saw how poised Murphy had to be throughout that LSU game although he didn't have the time and missed a few throws. I always said that even if I don't think Murphy is "the answer", he showed that he's better than Driskel when given time

I'm certainly not going to criticize Murphy. He played very well in his first few games. Remarkably well. But, yes, people were way too hard on Driskel here. Sure, he had a couple of bad games over the past year and a half.
Some people want to act like he's an interception machine, but int percent last year was better than Manziel, Murray, Manuel, Boyd ...
And if you remember, he sat out one game last year and we managed one offensive touchdown against the weakest opponent of the year. He made an awful lot of good plays for this team, despite not having much blocking.

Driskel. Grier red-shirts. Murphy will be back-up at worst and co-starter at best.

Still too early to say, I think.

You'd assume it will be a healthy Driskel but there's a lot of games for Tyler to win this job outright left this year. If he leads us to a win over Georgia or FSU off the back of his play and shows improvement, it's hard to see how he couldn't.

Sadly, I suspect we're going to struggle from here on in - the OL just isn't strong enough so I don't expect Tyler to stamp down his identity any more than he already has unless the staff changes it's offensive gameplan. We live in hope :)
