We potentially could have a 13-1 season.

...while winning the SEC and BCS championships.

Seems as likely to me as the silly thread claiming we could have a losing season.

So I'm taking the half full approach and cant wait to end Bamas run in Atlanta.

    ...........so there.

    I'm with you Tilly.

In fact, I am confident 13-1 is a lot more lkely than a losing record.

1983 UF beat Miami 28-3 in the first game of the season. Miami went on to win the NC.

It may not be so far fetched if the offense can learn to score in the red zone.

It is mathematically possible, sure, but not realistic. If we can get to a BCS bowl or win the east, great, but we are going to have to learn how to score some points.

Doubtful but this board needs some optimism

This thread is as ridiculous as the "Muschamp must go" one. No room for reason in either one.

Both are equally likely -- but most likely is somewhere inbetween.

As a Gator, I root for us to win against all odds. Discussing how we best make that happen, and sometimes why it didn't happen, is why we have these chat boards, no?

If the goal was to toe up to the line of the silliest post of the week, without crossing it, you succeeded. The losing season post just inches you out (but not by much).

To compare either of this years teams to those '83 teams is an insult

Actually, while 13-1 is definitely unlikely, the losing season post beats ths by a mile.

13-1 is probably 10x more likely than a losing season.

I agree! In spite of the loss I thought overall we looked better than last year's team. Our defense is lights out and the offense now makes downfield passes. Eliminate turnovers and we should rock!

Actually not. If you go by current rankings, or likely Vegas point spreads, whichever you prefer, if all of our games go as expected, we end up 8-5. That's two "upsets" from a losing record, but four upsets from getting to Atlanta with only one loss. To achieve a MNC, we would need two more wins against top-notch programs, as well as two non-SEC teams not running the table. In retrospect, a losing season is way more likely than a MNC. And that's not even factoring in getting hit with key injuries. We need a lot less bad luck to end up with a losing record, than we need good luck in winning it all. Simple mathematics.

It's like the definition of insanity or better yet, stupidity: "Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results".

we just lost to an unranked team that we should have beat.
This makes two loses in the last three both of which in my opinion we should have beaten.
I think we will play several teams better than Miami in the near future.
I guess that is why we are called fans.
