Here's a tissue
And, this one time, at band camp...

I remember when we ran the single wing and didn't have QB controversies....I also remember when the QB ,s at florida were ballers.....all the way down to 5th string....
Uh, it is nothing like 2011. That year, we had new systems on both sides of the ball with personnel playing in schemes that did not fit their skill sets because of the coaching turnover. This year, we have a loaded defense built by Muschamp to perfection, loaded two deep across with board with scheme-specific talent. It is in my opinion every bit as good as 2006 or 2012, likely better. That was not he case in 2011. Our line is better, our skill players have been the same scheme for two years now, and our replacement quarterback is not a true freshmen. That replacement quarterback also happened to have split about half of the practice reps since the beginning of camp due to Driskel's injury and illness and he looked solid in his first extended action.
Yes, I agree that the ceiling is lower, but LSU is about the only team I am pessimistic about us challenging. UGA can't defend anyone, SC is up and down, and FSU is hardly a world beater. I see no reason we can't win at least one of those four and I would be thrilled to win two of them, which would get us up to the 9-3 mark I halfway expected out of the season.
Personally, I feel pretty good. The team overcame a heck of a lot today for a convincing win. Going into this game most people here thought we only had 1 qb, so yea depth is a major concern, but nothing has really changed. If Murphy keeps playing like today, Gators have a chance to win every game.
I remember when we benched Ingle Martin and Terry Dean and started their back-ups. Man that was bad.
I have no idea what the OP Was trying to communicate.........
Exactly. Same goes for benching Palmer and going with Rex. Sometimes guys are better in practice than games and vice versa. Maybe Murphy is a gamer and we all get to reap the benefits.
A question that needs to be asked.
He thinks Driskel's injury is going to ruin the season for us.
I have to say that although Driskel showed some good signs in the Miami game, he was still making making too many crucial bad plays that were hurting us. If Murphy can play like he did today - and maybe even a little better - it could be that we'll actually be a better team with Murphy than we were with Driskel. Murphy sure seems more aware of the pass rush in the pocket and showed some outstanding escapability!
What was our O ranked last season?
...when we only missed Atlanta based on a tiebreaker and only missed the championship game, because Pitt couldn't make a 33-yard FG against ND.
This is the exact reason that keeps driving me further from this board
You're an idiot. We beat Tennessee . What did you want? To lose?
9-3 was my call, I do not think the driskel loss hurts us..
Any win over UT is to be savored. Granted, the best wins are blowouts over top 3 UT teams, but they are all good.
The next UT win I'm willing to give back because it didn't "feel" like a win will be the first.
We'll have to wait and see how Murph progresses, but it is too soon to say the ceiling has lowered. For a player not getting any game reps, Murph played well, and played with poise.
I don't know how anybody could have watched that game yesterday and not come out of it much more optimistic about our chances. Murphy performed exactly like the game manager everyone has been calling for (I don't blame him for a snap he wasn't expecting).
Unlike the original poster, I can't remember a 14 point win over a bad team that felt this good.
It has no relevance to the idiocy of this thread but didn't we lose our starting QB along the way in '79? Wasn't Brantley's dad supposed to start? Pretty sure Dr. O didn't come into the season the number one guy.
That was his only goof. He clapped while in the shotgun and then scanned the field. He did it later too. I also noticed the center snapped it like a rocket sometimes. Overall he did a great job on the fly!
