Looks like we caught our first break of the year, Idaho has dismissed their leading receiver!

    https://twitter.com/IDS_Southorn/status/491007260680654849

"Big news from Vandal land: Receiver Dezmon Epps (980 yards last season) has been dismissed from the team."

Last season, Epps’ 79 receptions for 980 yards and four touchdowns were easily tops on the team. Next up? Najee Lovett, whose 35-429-1 stat line now makes the 2013 JUCO transfer the Vandals’ leading returning receiver.

    ------------

Just kidding. I'm hoping we absolutely destroy this team....run up the score....play as many #2's & 3's as possible.....get the #2 QB as many reps as possible.....score at least in the 50's....

Yeah, we needed a break ?

Hope nobody gets injured, and we get some basics down.

Georgia southern jokes aside, I wasn't worried about this team. With or without him this will be a beat down.

It's not that big of a deal if we lose. Everyone is making it out to be worse than it is!

This will be a very important game for us.

New players, new coaches, new system, injured players finally return to battle.....a lot happening!

I want to see us just get into some rhythms going down field - I think that's what fit's Jeff the best - getting into the flow - being surrounded by playmakers...everyone contributing and on the same page.

Our first game will be all about finding our rhythm with a whole lot of new components!

I really want to see Red Zone percentage at 100.

    Really Really Want........

Pretty sure the second part is what every team on the face of the earth wants lol. But I agree it's been so long since we have seen anything near average on that side of the ball

No less than 40 points against these guys. Pease only did that once. I want the Roper era to start with a bang, and there should be no reason it shouldn't.

I'm sorry if this appears snarky, but when was the last time we had a wr with 79 receptions in a season? 50?

As much as I want to see the Gators pile on 50+ points, I will just be happy if they can go one stinking week without a major injury or suspension.

The last time the Gators have scored more than 50 points on a team under Muschamp: 11/19/2011 against Furman, 54-32.

Yep. Let's face it though, John Brantley isn't going to be running out of that tunnel. :)

Our leading receiver that year: Andre Debose with 432 yards. Chris Rainey was #2 with 381 yards. I don't care which QB emerges from the tunnel, but I would hope that the Gators could rack up close to 381 yards receiving on Idaho. I think Driskel's largest output has been about 291 yards passing in a game (Miami, 2013). Blame the coaches, players, injuries, or bad luck for the lack of offensive output the past few years. If we consider an Idaho player being dismissed from the team, then we have really lowered our standards when it comes to catching a break.

Now we will be overconfident going into the game and play lackadaisical, culminating in several weeks of angst until we play Bama and then....

Wait, what I meant to say was that we beat the crap out of them because Idaho won't be able to score and we will be getting giddy over our team for several weeks until we play Bama and then...

Wait, what I meant to say...

Aw crap, just lace them up and play. Win and it is good. Lose and then coaches have hell to pay.

That, of course, would be us "holding back" the playbook and not "showing our full hand" against such an easy opponent with such a big matchup looming in the near future :)
