Urban was the architect behind that dominating defense. Floyd, Elam, Easley, McCray, Bostic, Hunter, Evans, Watkins, Taylor, Jenkins - all signed by Urban.

The offense was bad, but they were all Urban's guys. Not one contributer was signed by the Muschamp regime (Urban got Driskel to commit, and Muschamp held on to him). The vast majority of our 2 deep on offense to this day is Urban guys.

A lot of you love to credit Zook with the 2006 national title, so it's only fair to give Urban credit for 2012. I'm sick of all the Urban blame. He won us 2 national titles, brought us a Heisman trophy quarterback, and stomped the hell out of our traditional rivals. If you think Urban left the program in shambles, just wait til you see how ole Boom's gonna leave it.

If Muschamp leaves it will be in pretty good shape. Urban certainly gets some credit for 2012. He also gets some credit for the lack of of offense in 2012 and 2013.

You giving Urban too much credit though Zook set the foundation

And Zooks foundation was gone in 2007. Urban laid his foundation - the 2006 and 2007 recruiting classes. Can we say the same for our current situation? Have Muschamp's 2012 and 2013 recruiting classes set us up for future success?

You can thank whoever you want to. Doesn't mean it makes any sense.

He's saying that the 2008 season was made up of Urban's recruits predominately. No argument there.

As to this year, Muschamp is actually starting more of Urban's recruits than Urban started Zook's recruits in his 3rd season.

And Heargreaves? Bullard? Taylor? Jacobs? Fowler? Grier on his way....Cook. There's many more I could list. Robinson, Fullwood... O line is our problem. That, and Pease not having a clue. We've been decimated by injuries, man. Next year will be a better barometer for how good a coach we have, IMO.

That being said, if we lose to Vandy and UGA, I may lose it!

What I'm starting to realize is that during the seasons when the ball bounced our way with Spurrier and Meyer, we won national championships or came close....in the season that the ball bounced our way under Muschamp (2012), it just looked like a typical season under Spurrier and Meyer in the W-L column.

Hope he can turn it around, but I'm really starting to doubt he can....especially if he doesn't change the offensive philosophy.

I don't understand the point of this post. There is always going to be overlap when coaching changes occur.

Zook was a great recruiter, but Urban did a nice job of bringing structure and discipline to guys like Dallas Baker who maybe needed to refocus their efforts. Would Dallas have been the player he became under Meyer if Zook was still there?

Likewise, Meyer left a lot of talented players, but then Muschamp also did a nice job adapting with some of them. Would Gillislee have been a 1000 yd rusher under Meyer? Would Reed have evolved into an NFL TE?

What's the point in trying to determine "foundations"? Each incoming coach is going to have to adjust with the existing personnel, so it is what it is. If Muschamp gets canned, there will be a lot of talent here to work with, too.

Just another excuse to get a dig at Champ. Same crap we saw constantly with Zook.

    *11-2.

Spurrier accomplished a similar feat in 90,91,93,94,95,96,97,98, and 01

    Meyer in 06, 08, and 09.

    I looked it up.

Part of the point is that everyone keeps saying that Urban left Muschamp with a mess. While the program was "broken" in the sense that the players did not have the right mindset, he still left plenty of talent.
