And he is throwing it with his back-up QB playing due to Braxton Miller's injury.
Put in Staver!!!
At this point let's just alternate receivers in the wildcat and see what happens.
I guess we can hope we lose every game to get the first pick overall...
Oh wait.... This isn't the Bucs forum
We haven't had talent at WR since Percy left. Most of the time Jeff holds the ball too long because there's just nothing there. Speaks volumes that Trey Burton is our go-to guy.
Here's the thing - if Jeff is only capable of running a Meyer-style spread, the solution is pretty easy: start putting in more of that into the offense.
The offense surely isn't overcoming the adversity, that they impart, on the field.
It starts at QB.
I don't know about you all but Dunbar had looked sharp, and made great catches. Solomon Patton had great catches today too. Still no Robinson or Fulwood, they're probably already plotting their escape.
We aren't going to lose every game what happens if we go on and win every game here on out.
Driskel is definitely more suited to a spread option offense, but he's really all you've got at QB with Brissette gone. Muschamp is still trying to get his type of players...it's gonna take a little more time to do that. I don't know where your recruiting is for next year, but you better have 2-3 pro style QBs coming in next year.
Your RBs look really good, as does your D.
We no longer lack talent on that side of the ball. There are no excuses.
JD can be a winning QB but not in a pro style, drop back passing attack. The coaches still think they can run over everyone like we did to LSU last year in the 4th Quarter. This team needs to use more of Pease's offense and less of the telegraphed handoff between tackles. Besides, by my count we are now missing 3 of our projected starters on the O-line. That would certainly be a signal to opposing teams that we have a major weakness that can be exploited.
That was me being facetious. Did you not figure that out?
we have 2 weeks...something has to change...get to work!!
Exactly, Dunbar today went up and got blasted and still made the catch. Patton burned the secondary making a diving catch.
Something is wrong here, we have the players.
Dive straight into the pile 2 times per 4 downs-check.
Penalties at the most inopportune times-check.
Turnovers in the red zone-check.
Control the clock-check.
Leave points on the field-check.
Wear the other team down-check.
Offense looks like it never practiced-check.
Other than the turnovers, nothings changed from last year-check.
Hard to on the internet.
Agreed. I was impressed with both of them.
Our new guys are here for the long haul. They know that Grier will be their QB eventually and signed so they could play with him.
We need to sit Driskel and put someone else in at QB.
