Not at those two schools current state. I'd say they would be lucky to draw 100k+

Kinda reminds me when I was at Daytona years ago... All the dale jr fans made me think I was at a Uga game or something.

If they come anywhere near filling that, they should make it an annual rivalry like the WLOCP.

One of you photo shop gurus should show how the football field fits in the above picture. I've been to BMS and believe me if you have one of the cheap seats you will probably not be in the same zipcode as the game.

Tennessee fans are going to need major expectations in order to fill all of those seats.

Certainly agree with that. Both teams need to get a lot better to draw more than 100K.

It's an interesting idea. I don't see how they could possibly put the field in the middle of the in field. That "not a good seat in the house," UCLA Houston basketball game at the Astrodome would be luxurious compared to the lack of views you'd get from that setup. I think they have to do the more recent basketball in a dome style arrangement where they put the field sideways up against one of the corners and bring in temp seating along the other sideline.

Bristol is half way between Knoxville and Blacksburg. They will definetely sell this place out. It will be an event.

But not a good seat in the house. Bring your binoculars.

I thought about this, too. It doesn't sound like a pleasant game to attend.

Ray, Virginia Tech can put 100K in by themselves. There is a very long waiting list for season tickets at Lane. And they are really no worse than we are this year. Indeed, there probably isn't a team that is more similar to Florida this year. I'm sure you would think Florida could fill it if the speedway was in, say, Sebring.

They went 7-6 last year. We went 7-6 in 2011. Every team has a bad year occasionally. But their program, like ours, is rock solid.

Don't expect Tennessee to stay down, either. Their program is far too storied. If the right coach comes in and wins, those 107,000 seats at Neyland will fill up fast. Heck, we struggle to fill up the Swamp, and we've won 17 of our last 21 games. A game at Bristol would fill up just for the event.

VT should have gone to the SEC instead of Mizzou. The VT-Tennessee game would be an instant rivalry, and they could make Texas A&M a perfect cross-divisional rivalry, as both schools are the last two schools with a large active Corps of Cadets. VT is more SEC than most SEC teams in philosophy, attitude, fanbase, and stadium atmosphere.

Excellent point. Historically, they have been a stronger football program than Mizzou.

Now, basketball is another story...but that's for a different forum.

Believe me, they'll fill the place if the seats are cheap enough...... just to part of the crowd....not so much to see the game\

Needless to say, the economy of the Tri-Cities area will appreciate this.

It will be a nice one day boost, which they could use.
