I absolutely agree that Hargreaves is one of the most impressive freshman I've ever see play the game. He by no means plays like a freshman. The kid was a blanket yesterday!!
I think it took Haden one season to truly get acclimated at CB (the entire D wasn't really that good in 2007)... a position that he had never played before I might add. Haden played QB in HS and then decided to switch to CB so that he could play for UF.
VHIII is quite special though
Vernon is great, but give the Murph he dues also, we have lots of great Gator players, this is why we call it a team, thank you .
Vernon is doing well. I am not on the super hype train but he is putting together a good resume. His 1st two ints I just thought it were two bad throws but he is looking very good in coverage.
The secondary as a whole might be the best since Ed Reed and Co. was at UM.
UF can actually go cover 0 all game if they want to when Roberson and Poole come back and still have a quality rotation.
Also, Gorman has looked pretty good too. Actually all the safeties have minus a few plays from Maye and Riggs(he has been amazing besides the late UT TD)
Were does the late Avery Atkins rank on the all time UF freshman cb list?
You obviously dont get it. Right now we are in a wait and see mode on football players because we just played two terrible football teams. One team almost lost to South Alabama and the other lost WKU. Tyler is doing well and I am excited but I expected Jeff to do the same thing. The staff also had TM ready to play as soon as Jeff went down which shows they are getting the job done
Admitting VH3 is real deal and ready to start is supporting the coaches they were the ones who recruited him. They knew what kind of player he was on and off the field. They also continue to stress how practices and prepares extremely well. I also expected him to play/ start right away in the secondary.
It's not a zero sum discussion. We can heap praise upon a guy for outstanding play, it does nothing to denigrate another's effort.
I think Tyler has got a couple of his own threads praising his terrific play. The VHIII thread is not meant to take anything away from any other player just gives people a chance to express their thoughts about him.
My first thought after the pick was SEC Defensive Freshman of the Year candidate.
This is what I said after the Miami game. His technique sets him apart from every other freshman corner we've had recently to compare him to. It's flawless.
Also, he has better natural ball skills than anybody back there. He's nearly a perfect prospect at his position. I love watching him play the game.
I recall Jenkins being the awesomest tackler in space in his first game. Haden got to that level. A receiver caught the ball in front of him and zero yards after catch were the result every time.
He sure seemed to get picked on a lot today.
when he makes a play against a good team, can someone email me???
He got assigned to the TE/SE a lot. He's got great speed and skills, but I think he just got too overmatched size-wise today.
As a true freshman, he won a starting position on a secondary that returned both its cornerbacks from the previous season that are projected NFL corners.
VHG3 has been a bright spot to an otherwise disappointing season.
In Christ forever,
VH3 is great and is gonna be awesome in the future, but our fans were trying to crown this young cat the best for defending the #3 receiver on the likes of Toledo and Kentucky.
Thanks for the buzzkill. All we have left is to watch VH3, Fowler, and Kelvin. You going to take that away too?
He has to learn how to deal with the bigger WRs better.
Maybe you Debbie Downers missed this ^^^^
Seriously he's a freshman and was playing in a tough game. He'll be even better next year and that's scary + awesome = scrawsome!
