Vanderbilt will be the visiting team.
They have to hit the ball tonight. They were given a gift in game 1 and still almost blew the lead. UVA pitching isnt going to give up 9 runs in an inning very often.
Would be 1st Vandy Men's National Championship if they can get it...I hope its baseball before basketball or football...
And they only have one women's title in history, a bowling title. Didn't even realize the NCAA sanctioned bowling.
I am pulling like hell for Vandy and the SEC but UVa looks better to the eye. Maybe the 'Dores can steal another one.
Top of the eighth and Vandy just homered for a 1-run lead, 3-2... maybe they can pull it off!
Yup, get em Vandy.
Vandy is National Champion. Won't type that again anytime soon. Congrats Dores.
Wow, so Vanderbilt wins a baseball title before both us and Florida State. Who would have seen that coming?
Especially since there have been less than 20 winners in the last 50 years...
Exciting game, congrats to the Vandy fans. They've had a nice run this academic year, first with football and now with baseball. A lot of excellent players, especially pitchers, have passed thru that program in recent years and never even made it to Omaha much less win. Corbin should be set for a long time now.
Personally, I am looking forward to next year and the return of the HR ball.
Vanderbilt basically didn't even have a stadium in the 90's and finished under .500 in the SEC for 22 straight years before they hired Tim Corbin. What he's done there in terms of the program's standing in the sport is equivalent to somebody making a bunch of BCS bowls and winning a title in football at Vandy. It's a historically great coaching job.
And they had to go look for him to give him the trophy. He was just sitting back letting his kids enjoy the victory. I thought that was pretty cool.
