    As far as scrapping is concerned . The Ship will need to be pulled into a drydock and deconstructed from the top down with the use of many oxygen-acetylene torches .
    Very expensive operation .

    Ahh the Richmond K Turner. Yep, class before the Belknap though still some similarities to the structure. I think the Standley was a Belknap class cruiser (I think it went up to CG-34).

    OS. Good job. I was a PN. Best job in the Navy! Much power given that we had everyone's service record. In fact, when I reported to the Belknap and had to do Kitchen duty for 3 months, instead of assigning me to the day shift which meant up at 4am, work until about 6 or 7pm, they put me on night shift with one other person from 7-4, no supervision except the cook on duty cooking up the midrats.

    I found out why afterward when the 1st class cooks kept reminding me when they needed something about how they helped me out with my kitchen assigment :laugh:

    No , but , I've seen it here . My Dad was in the scrap metal business .
