Is Tyus the bald guy in the two pics? No dreads anymore?

The entire article is about him.

It shouldn't surprise anyone he doesn't have dreads anymore. He had a receding hairline while at UF.

Funny he gets the M V P award for having his best games of the year when suddenly called upon to play out of position at center!

Tyus is such a great athlete.

Great to hear his is having such success.

I mean, it is really astounding how many of Billy Donovan's former big me have done so well playing professional ball.

I mean, after all, he was a Point Guard. How is it that he has so very much success teaching Big Men?

Nah. You just use hairpins. Being bald makes them hard to wear. Mine falls off all the time.

Glad he is doing well...his biggest issue was always himself...he thought he was a SF, but refused to put in the work to become one, told BD he was transferring 2 different off seasons, and really never met his true potential here....that said, glad he is doing so well and has matured, was never a bad kid

If he and Billy have talked, I wonder if Billy has refrained from saying: "I hate to say I told you so, but..."

I'm also happy to hear he's doing well.

FWIW, I know I never claimed Tyus couldn't play 2nd Division in Europe. I don't even know what that is

Whatever. I specifically remembering your post on May 14, 2012 when you said "there is no way Tyus will ever play 2nd Division in Europe, or 1st....wait, which is higher, 1st or 2nd?...is it rated like felonies, or would 3rd Division be higher?....if so he'll never play in 3rd Division either (if they have that)."

    Don't try to backtrack now!

Alex was a frustrating player to watch at times. But he had tremendous athleticism, and seemed like a nice kid.
    Good for him!

When I think of Alex Tyus I think of the frustration and I think of his final tournament where he reached that potential and played about as dominant a post-season as I've seen. I firmly believe if we would have fed that man more in the end of the Butler game we would won. His line for the tournament:

vs Butler: 14 points on 6 of 12 shooting with 10 rebounds 2 blocks and a steal
vs BYU: 19 points on 8 of 9 shooting with 17 rebounds 2 assists and a block
vs UCLA: 8 points on 4 of 10 shooting with 13 rebounds and a block
vs UCSB: 8 points on 4 of 5 shooting with 6 rebounds, 1 block, 1 assist, and 2 steals in only 20 minutes

He was on a mission from the first game of that NCAA tourney and we saw what he could do at the four when he put his mind and effort into it. 12 ppg and 11.5 rpg on over 60% shooting with a handful of other stats. That is the Alex Tyus I remember.

His biggest issue ont he court was his suspect hands...fumbled away countless lay-ups/dunks at rim...

Ya know as I sit here and reminisce about our past teams I am reminded just how lucky we are to have seen so many 4 year players and just how much I would hate the one and done system that UK uses to their advantage. I like players like Beal but I don't get attached to them. Having senior classes like last year, Boynton/Murphy and the Macklin/Tyus/Parsons class is really enjoyable to watch.

I will always appreciate what Tyus did for us while wearing the O&B.
Nice to hear Alex is making a name for himself in Europe.
