No one likes injuries, but this has worked out well for TM in that he has a full game under his belt which is so important. He also will have two fairly easy games to gain more valuable experience before facing stiffer competition.

He needs to do what we saw today, play within himself and not try to do too much. Be the game manager and avoid injury. I like that he slides rather than taking a hit. He should be getting lots of reps these next several weeks so that when we do play LSU, he will be very ready.

Our D will keep us in most if not all games as long as we don't shoot ourselves on offense by turning the ball over.

And he will get daily practice time with the first string and a game plan made around him.

We are very lucky that the schedule shakes out this way. This is why its important to pull away from teams like Toledo to get your backups live game reps so that they are better prepared. Perhaps he doesn't have a miscommunication with the center on a shotgun snap in SEC play if he had more reps in games previously.

Agreed, if it was going to happen, this is a good time for it.
The guy has some pocket awareness.

He must have taken sliding lessons from Chris Leak. :)

Never like injuries but this could be a blessing in disquise. From what I hear, his story is like a movie script. He stayed with UF when others might have bailed. He never gave up trying to improve, he endured time after time of being overlooked, and now he's thrust into the spotlight. It has been reported that he will watch practice film of himself in order to improve. This is almost like a movie in the making.

I have no doubt he will use these next few weeks to sharpen his skills and can't wait to watch next week.

I was very impressed by Tyler's intelligence and composure. Not to knock our other QB, but these were intangibles that had been in short supply. Between Tyler and Darrin Kitchens, we have a couple smart dudes on the team.

Whats funny is the national media painting this doom and gloom scenario for us. Did they watch the game after TM came in? Have they seen how JD played for the last several games?

No. TM slides after the first down marker.

Whoops, meant to quote the Leak post.

This is the truth. Nothing will be easy in these next two games for this team. The D is indeed our ace in the hole.
