...and If we had a just a winning football team in the fall, we'd be hoisting the mens trophy too...
Got to fix the midline first.
Well done! Congrats!
Excellent ! Chalk up another one.
The guys won it back-to-back.......including the inaugural competition. Gals have broken through in multiple ways over the past few years. Way to go Gator Gals! Btw.....the Crableg Gang finished below our guys!
We'd win some Director's Cups too if they'd force Stanford to designate the sports they want counted before the year begins. All they have to do is throw out the half of their sports they sucked in and they win it again year after year.
The margin between first and second place, 42 points, was the same as the spread between second and tenth place.
People are going to start saying ...
UF: where the women are women ... and the men are too.
Congrats to the ladies; great that they broke through after coming close the last few years and seeing the men grab 2.
I posted a similar thread in the women's section; I hadn't seen this one.
Yep, been pointing it out for years; but to this day folks still say it's fair because they only count a certain number of sports (20)... except it's not fair because the more sports you have the greater your margin for error.
Stanford has 36 varsity sports, so they can bomb in 16 and still have points in 20 sports counted; we field 21 varsity teams, so can only afford to do poorly in 1 if we hope to get points in 20 sports.
The men are ranked #3 and ahead of FSU, so...not exactly chopped liver.
The Lady Gators are really coming into their own the last few years. elite status for sure
