It's safe to say that the coming game will be dramatically different from the first in many ways.

Florida has definitely improved across the board in all categories--and we'll have two players that didn't feature the first time (Hill and Chris Walker). UConn is a strong team and can absolutely beat us--especially if we give Napier the opportunity to go off on us.

The two keys to this one for me are:

1.) UF's three-point production has to be better in the rematch...and we have to do better defending them too

2.) Florida gave UConn 24 points off turnovers, per the above. If we reverse the script on them by reducing our own turnovers--while keeping the pressure up on them and getting points from the transition game; then I like our chances.

If we out-rebound them and shoot more free throws than they do, like we did in the previous game, we will win. Like I've said all year, if DFS can hit his wide open 3 pointers, we win going away.

On a side note, we will have Hill in this game and Chris Walker's few minutes a game and his 5 fouls will be available. What does UConn have that they didn't have when we first met?

Ouch. If shooting fouls, that's ten points. They are excellent from the foul line.

And you better believe Donovan will be on the phone with Pitino this week. Louisville absolutely CRUSHED UConn THREE times this season.

Defend without fouling ( they are hitting close to 90% in the tournament)

Don't turn the ball over (Michigan state has 16)

Take advantage of our size (Michigan state only had 8 points in the paint, the lowest in 5 years)

    Control the glass

    Make their threes contested looks

DFS certainly has to give us more this game and I'm sure he will. He has improved a lot since then.

Pomeroy had us 12th slipping to 16th after we lost to them. We've been a solid top 2 since the end of the regular season and now #1. Our defense has gotten a lot better.

There's no question that we are much improved since 12/2/2013. The continuity in our lineup alone has made us better.

If I'm not mistaken, Scottie had only been back for a couple of games, Hill was hurt and even DFS was still rounding into form after his suspension. Kurtz was still having to give us significant minutes at that point too.

Not a bad thing. Every team the media has adored in this tourney has lost. Keeps the pressure off us.

Any idea what kind of pressure worked?

I was wondering if we have improved our defense since that game, and where else people have noticed this team improve? I imagine UConn has improved as well but nonetheless have not had as impressive a season as our team overall.

Hill really makes this a different team. The thing that stood out to me was Scottie had 35 minutes even with sitting out the last three with the injury. That's a lot of minutes and that's a lot of time without a point guard running your offense when he wasn't in there.

you gotta think this game has put the fear of God into UCONN ... trust me, they want NONE of the Gators after needing a miracle shot to beat them at home and seeing the Gators rip off 30 straight since!

Scottie, Hill, DFS, and Yeguette are all playing better than they were in December... Yeguette ddn't even look himself back in December.

We take care of the ball, press them, play our game. Double digit victory.

Also didn't Scottie McBuckets get hurt late in that game and couldn't finish the game?

Probably one of the better advantages MIGHT be that Hill's height, or lack of it, will not be a disadvantage here. Both of UConn's starting guards are his height, so he can provide the hustle and speed to help guard them and give SW rest. Towards the end of that first game I think we had Finney-Smith trying to guard those guys. Their coach must have been licking his chops.

Still looking at those game stats, I could see it very easily, going the same way. We were better inside and if they don't hit from outside without help, we could stay there to get rebounds. If they are, then we have to slide out to protect the perimeter first.

This is the seniors game, but I think it is imperative that Walker and Hill really contribute here.

The other thing I noticed is we got 32 minutes and 3 points of production out of our bench. They had 70 minutes and 8 points. We get way more bench production now. We got 71 minutes and 23 points from our bench against UCLA and 50 minutes and 7 points against Dayton, and they got 54 minutes and 14 points from their bench against ISU and 27 minutes and 2 points from their bench against MSU.

Bench minutes is a great advantage for the legs as the game wears on.

    I can't wait, Go Gators!

We actually were without the services of three players, given that Devon Walker came into the game with an injured foot, played a minimal 2 minutes, and was never able to return. With Kasey absent, that made Devon's lack of availability a much more major loss than it otherwise would have been.
