And when did he say that? I haven't heard him say that at all on the insider boards.
Thanks... Don't get on twitter that much. Haven't heard him on here say that.
Yeah....along with the coaching staff who brought out the worst in them.
Bama oversigns and is loaded so they can afford to lose some transfers. UF rarely oversigns and the players we do sign aren't the most talented or have other issues. Your comparison is completely irrelevant. Stop comparing UF to Bama. UF will never be on Bama's level.
based on the timing of that tweet, i think spivey is including staver and skyler in that projection of 4 more transfers (meaning we're looking for 2 more, not 4 more). so the bleeding may be more of a trickle than an arterial gush at this point. as bantab mentioned, spivey also says he was told that D-Rob is staying, which is huge. i don't think we're worse off for any of the transfers that have happened so far. we'll see how crucial the next couple are...
I've got the same question. (just saw there was a tweet about Staver, but Morningwig?)...
Now we have a built in excuse for next year. How many teams lose a dozen transfers and could have a winning record? No coach in the country could pull that off! Also, the next coach will be able to sign 40 kids next year at the rate we are loosing players.
I would say if anyone significant transfers and/or we lose out on some of our top offensive commits and the recruiting class flames out then the writing is on the wall. That would seal his fate, IMO. Its one thing to have a down year or two on the field, but to continuously screw up in recruiting is a death sentence.
Christian, Leonard, and Patchan this yr. all did pretty well..
I know there were extenuating circumstances, but all three of those would have been huge to have on the team this past yr.
Why don't you bet that we won't be close to 85 in the Fall? If we are, you leave GC for good.
Hahahaha good lord!!!
Well looky there that would be the same amount as us
He said it himself.
@maxstaver: Thank you to everyone for the experience down there and the support. I will miss my teammates, friends, and also the Gator fans. God Bless.
These transfers seem more like scholly moves Allowing us to sign more this year which could mean coaches are confident about some of our targets. Besides staver knew grier was coming as well as driskel returning and murphy. He wouldn't crack depth chart the others did produce anything. So far so good.
Does anyone know what the record for number of transfers in one year is for any school?
I mean is average like 2 per school or what?
Not that funny.
Christian had 400 yds and 4 tds. Patchan was second team all ACC. You're right, though,, I whiffed on Leonard. Thought I read he had a good yr. and I can't even find a stat on him. He got booted anyway pretty much.
Way more than that. I'd be willing to wager we've had more than 2 every year since I can remember going back to the early 90's.
The mark of a good coach is not how many transfers they had anyway. Otherwise, Billy Donavan would be low man on the totem poll in the SEC. lol.
