Right, but Mullen can bring his staff. Don’t think Frost wanted to come here but go home to NB.
yeah this wasn't posted in a disparaging way by any means. I just thought it was interesting enough to pass along. Not a knock on Mullen/UF at all just thought it was an interesting nugget.
Indeed sir. Responding to Heady....
Complete BS. Frost could have brought whom ever he desired, just as Mullen has done. UF was looking for decisive answer and Mullen was ready to accept. Frost wanted to go home to Nebraska
I’m not blaming the messenger but this doesn’t make sense to me because they let Mullen do basically the same thing. I’m still not happy about how he purged the whole UF staff and replaced them with his MSU staff. We had a few really good coaches and staff members that could have been kept for at least recruiting continuity.
was it Frost wanting to bring his defensive staff too? I think Frost and his pass happy version of the spread would have been really fun to watch. I like Mullen and think he is the right guy but Frost would have been fun too.
Just like we offered Chip but he had to keep Randy Shannon and some other coaches in place.
After last year. I will believe nothing I hear about a coaching search.
Well if Christopher heady tweeted Sean Brockton said it...
Doubt it could have gotten that far in regard to specifics regarding assistant coaches. Though it sounds good when you're relaying the story to the guys you want to uproot from FL to Lincoln with you (or kind of like "I'm not in contact with other programs" sounded like a good answer from Frost to UCF and their fans throughout November).
Mullen may have been Stricklin’s first choice all along and he may have made it happen. We will never know how the coaching search really went. Bottom line is Stricklin’s job depends on who he hires and he should hire who he believes in regardless of what we think.
Frost would have been great, but Nebraska would always be the dream job he wanted. Mullen will be great and he has his dream job.
I hope Mullen has a 20+ year run.
Frost was my first choice, was disappointed we didn’t get him. I’m all in on Mullen now, he can’t be any worse than McElwain plus he understands Gator championship culture.
but....but....it’s on the internet, therefore it must be true
Christopher Heady wants attention. Probably the recipient of multiple participation trophies..... NTTAWWT.
I cannot wait for football season to start. Christopher Heady has no more insight into the Florida coaching search than anyone else. Of course he would slant the story towards Nebraska--he only reports on Nebraska and he needs to create some content for Nebraska fans.
Scott Stricklin laid out the entire coaching search process for the Gator Nation. We can choose to believe anything we want, but he made the process transparent, and the committee made their choice.
I'm happy with Dan Mullen no matter who else was offered the job. I think we got the right guy. Call it a gut feeling if you want, but I really think we got the guy who's going to put us back on the map for longer than anyone else we were going after.
Agreed but we got the better coach imho.
Im gonna need to see a text, a phone call record, something to prove this considering EVERY inside source since the hire has said Frost was set on Nebraska from the beginning.
