mark long 'suspects it' ie he's guessing based on no info whatsoever. I guess at least he isn't claiming to have 'sources'
Let's hope not. Murphy has been a very very loyal Gator. The competition should be wide open as Driskel has not proven one iota that he can 1. play an entire season without injury or 2. Be a capable winning performer at the QB position.
Pretty good, actually.
Yeah you'd think it's a lock he gets more playing time next year considering those two factors.
Maybe he's hearing from other schools that like what he's done and are luring him away.
And that would mean we're one injury away from absolute disaster again at QB. I heard him considering this isn't about PT as much as it is not trusting the coaches anymore.
would you elaborate on this?
Agreed. The stats don't really speak to how much better he looked in that game compared to the three games leading up to it. Regardless, I appreciate Tyler Murphy and his patience with this team and staff and respect any decision he makes. I'm not going to speak ill of him just because he decided to transfer... he needs to do what's best for his future.
Yeah and we have seen how healthy Tyler stayed behind our OL. Oh nevermind, JD is the only one who ever gets hurt.
Jeff looked pretty good to me
To all who want to transfer.....
SSSsssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Ya. If you aint a Gator, you are Gator bait. You either are a Gator or not. If you are in between figuring that out, then good riddance.
After everything we learned about T. Murph this season I would seriously doubt there is any truth to this. He could have transferred long ago but stuck it out. I doubt this is anything more than pure speculation.
I didn't say that.
If JD was considering transfer because Murphy was the front runner, I'd have the same argument... JD would be just one play away.
We could really use both of them.
There are a couple of ways to look at this.
Maybe until this season Tyler thought he was a college benchwarmer and this was pretty much it for him. Perhaps seeing himself perform well (enough) at a top school has convinced him he could get a clearer opportunity elsewhere (and perhaps some looks from the next level).
Sure, but ... he could wait the whole season for that one play. Why not go somewhere and be 0 plays away?
I understand a guy wanting to leave if he feels he'll have a better shot somewhere else.
From a team perspective, we could really use both guys, though.
I don't disagree, just showing how last year could have opened up some possibilities for him.
If he was going to transfer wouldn't he have done it in the past 4 years when he buried on the depth chart? Doesn't make much sense to transfer now when your 2nd string behind a guy coming off a season ending injury. And, no disrespect to TM, but it's not like he has a pro career ahead of him & sitting on the bench will hurt his stock. IMO he seems like a guy destined to become a coach.
That said, I couldn't blame him if he did, he will be the clear number 2 behind JD.
Because without more it's just an unsupported statement that you just made up.
