@APMarkLong: RT @1010XLLauren: You heard it on @1010XL: @APMarkLong suspects that Gator backup QB Tyler Murphy may transfer upon upcoming graduation

@APMarkLong: Makes sense that Murphy would at least explore transfer. Why come back & sit behind Driskel & maybe Grier when you can play elsewhere?

This would really suck. I think he has a chance to win the starting job. Before his shoulder injury, he looked like the better player between Driskel and him.
I really hope he sticks it out and has a legitimate chance at winning the starting job.

Yeah he proved himself enough that he can play somewhere and doesn't have to sit out. Won't begrudge him anything if he decides to go.

Can't say I blame him. Wish him well. Given the circumstances, he did a great job.

He should stick around as he could be the starter next year.

No doubt. He should be part of a very REAL competition.

He looked great against Tennesse (5-7), Kentucky (2-10) and Arkansas (3-9).

But what if he isn't? In addition, I would not expect the offense to be a great advertisement for the NFL based on past seasons. The safe play is to transfer. I wouldn't blame him but it doesn't help UF.

And then he injured his shoulder vs. LSU and his arm strength and accuracy were never the same the rest of the season

At the very least, there should be some curiosity there among Gator fans who saw Murphy play well before his injury. He was looking quite good until then. I think he would have a shot of being the starter.

While I would like for him to stick around for depth reasons and me being a selfish fan if he wants a legitimate chance at a starting job he should go. Despite what some people want to believe he is not going to beat out Jeff for the starting job. The "open competition" will not be close. If he does decide to leave it will be interesting to see where he goes.

If I was him I would stay he is one injury away from starting again. Does anybody believe Jeff will be healthy all year next season?

    Absolutely!

He had 147 passing yards and -15 rushing yards in 2012.

At UF these days, that is "great".

    Thank GOD!
This would really be a huge loss. Even if he doesn't beat out Driskel, he would be very valuable. And obviously, injuries do happen. Jeff goes down, I want Tyler in and vice versa.

We ran most of the game, but he made a play pretty much every time he was asked to. For the rushing yards, he can't block for himself (especially because his ankle was sprained)

Agree. And even if he doesn't win the starting position, he'll be one play away from going back in. JD has been dinged up or injured for real several times now.
