    Ah canna fill the force..

How about a drunk Scotsman locked in a bathroom..
    ...."A kangeroo...A kangeroo"..

There are dozens of different accents and dialects in Britain, I hope everyone over here doesn't think that Piers Morgan, Simon Cowell and the Geico lizard are representative of British people as a whole.

I don't really care for the Geico pig or the money man. But it seems like Geico just throws as much crap on the wall as they can in hopes of finding a winner.

I'm in advertising and marketing. Every time I see a bad commercial I have two thoughts:

    1) Some ad agency person had the guts to pitch that concept to a client

    2) Some client was stupid enough to buy that concept.

What gripes me most are the commercials that are so clever that they don't cause you to remember what they were advertising.

I have two business degrees (a bachelor's in business administration and a masters in entrepreneurship) and am looking for the right work situation, and my personal website is linked in my profile, so I try to not be so blunt... BUT I have thought much the same as you stated above. :)

The part I bolded particularly drives me nuts... what good is a commercial if the viewer doesn't remember what is being advertised? The follow-up to that is, logically, that the viewer (in the target audience) should not only remember what is being advertised, but also think positively about it.

I mentioned the "Old Spice - worst architect in the world" commercial, which I remember pretty well, but I might actually choose to NOT purchase their soap because I think the commercial is so bad, IMHO.

BILL...creative advertising is a true art form. Love commercials and love seeing what went into them. Use the pub here and elsewhere to get your ideas out there. Just for fun. Never know who sees things . Good luck to you.

I record most of what I watch on TV and fast forward thru most of the commercials- there is on an occasion where I see one that makes me chuckle

Very imaginative Art....your advertising SPIDER sense is .......awesome.
    Keep posting wild man.

    OAK...VERY NICE...
Not to be political, but , in big budget commercials like this one, what are the odds that THE TEA PARTY LINE at the end of the commercial is just a coincidence...
Naw...probably just got rushed and needed a funny punch line. No more MUSSOLINI knee slappers out there ?:ninja:

I am really getting annoyed with the Vonage series of commercials on breaking down walls.

This is one of my all-time favorite commercials. Funny and puts the product front and center in situations that feature what the manufacturer believes are the product's strengths..reliability and durability.

The Progressive "Flo" series is to me the most mind-numbing, vapid and irritating line of commercials ever invented. I turn my radio off in my car for five minutes every time I hear it...just to be sure it will be gone when I turn it back on.

The TV spots are even worse.

Good stuff, steveo...well said. Most of these insurance companies have crappy commercials, and what up with Flo from Progressive? How did they get so much mileage out of her?

    The Geico gecko? pfft..

The only one I kind of like, but again they over use the hell out him is the Allstate disaster, guy, but they've overplayed their hand on that one too.
