Play calling? Sure. I hear ya. Fine
But the calls were good enough.

Players have to protect the ball.
Most of our TOs were on pass plays.

We need to sit guys. QB included who cant protect the football.

I would agree Jeff should sit but Pease does nothing to help him. Nothing, especially in the red zone. We actually move the ball and when the area of the field is crowded we stop running the ball or run the wildcat

We left, what, 12 points on the field in the red zone?

    Turnovers, 100%.

I agree. Give up only 200+ yards to that offense, double the time of possession and lose the ball 5 times to piss it away. Gotta make changes now!

Coaches decide which players play. They prepare them to play. They call the plays that they play. Ours didn't work out so well today even though I think we all agree that UF has the better players.

You guys think Murphy-- the guy who thought he had the right defensive alignment to run the 2 point conversion-- is ready?

Nobody's ready. We need to sneak Chris Leak in a few times.

We don't have any other options at QB.

But the OP nailed it. We dominated and won the game in every single facet...except for one. Turnovers.

This should have been a blowout win, but we're staring at a loss because of incredibly poor execution. Period.

You can't play mistake free football every game. It's not sustainable. The great teams overcome it. Our defense gave us all the chance in the world to win. Our inept offense lost the game.

If we actually tried to pick up bigger chunks of yards and tried to score on 1st and 2nd downs maybe we wouldn't have been in the position to commit those turnovers in the redzone where the defense is much more compacted.

you are right people are going to cry about a vertical passing game etc. But in the end this game was lost on turnovers. The game plan has definitely changes since we don't have Caleb anymore last year they would get to the 30 and just run the ball since we had a great field goal kicker now they are pressing trying to score.

    Coaches. Period.

How many years does it take to have at least a middle of the pack offense? Ours players do dumb things, make bad decisions (on and off the field), and have zero respect for the game of football. It's laughable.

People who hate Pease need to understand...he sees these guys every day. He knows their limitations. They showed them today and against UGA and Louisville.

Pass more you say? He tried to come out throwing in the Sugar Bowl.....result: Pick six.
Threw it 33 times today...Result: 4 TO's on pass plays.

Pease has to dumb down the playbook, until guys get it right. I think Pease knows that opening up the offense will lead to to many turnovers.

So players doing dumb things is new to this group of coaches? Carlos Dunlap, AH, Rainey etc all say hello.

You have to actually DO something IN GAMES over and over in order to get good at it. We've relentlessly practiced pass avoidance for 2 years now, so we're good at it.

Reminds me of last years game in so many ways.

    Too many turnovers to overcome.

Add to the fact that we couldn't run between the tackles...its gonna be a loss.

No. You don't practice in games. You practice in practice. What the coaches see there restricts what they can do in games.

I think it may be becoming evident that they don't trust our QB....and maybe rightfully so....and have been a JD supporter for the most part.
