Is that not what you said here?
That's true, you didn't, but you did say the opportunity to play in a BCS bowl. However, that was not going to happen. The Noles were going to hammer the Canes again and send them to the Weedwhacker Bowl.
clearly not. I wrote 'an opportunity to play in the BCS' which is exactly what we had by playing FSU in the ACC title game.
well you're correct, you just thinking that you and the 12 other fans in that dump you guys rent were going to go to a BCS bowl game.
Miami's been cleaning up in recruiting. what's crazy is they've been able to get these kids all while still facing potential punishment.
I'm not worried because there's plenty of time, but our staff needs to get on the ball.
Stop it our staff is on the ball. Miami just took a kid we said no to
It's not a recruiting battle when an offer isn't committable. (Pittman, Harris etc.)
We have done pretty well overall with the guys we have legit interest in.
Self banning is BS, they need ships stripped.
Scholarships will be lost...but nothing that will send us back in the wrong direction.
Its going to come down to evaluation at the end of the day. The UF staff felt they could do better and Miami saw someone that could help them. Time will show who made the correct move.
I never, never said that the other programs in the NCAA are, "...halo wearing saints..."
Anybody would be a fool to think so. In fact, all of us know that those schools that have just been hit with NCAA sanctions... are still cheating right now.
What I DID say was that Miami's actions over the decades has been absurd.
Absurdity to the level where not one other NCAA member school can match up with their repeatability, intensity and especially...style of cheating.
That is why I asked the simple, single question:
"Name me one other school that can equal or beat Miami in what they have done regarding shady recruiting over the decades."
Look... I can't stand FSU any more than you can... and yes, what the Nolies have pulled over the decades when it comes to recruiting and keeping kids enrolled has been laughable...
... but Miami has got them beat.
I am interested in this for one reason and one reason alone....I think this is nothing more than a barometer to see how much juice the NCAA still has. There are open conversations on ESPN about pulling out of the NCAA and how they really do nothing. This is a standoff the way I see it. The NCAA being the bigots that they are, got caught doing some things they should not have been doing and have been getting away with for years. Miami got caught doing things that they shouldn't have been. The question is whose transgression is worse? And complicating things is Shalalah went all loud mouth after them. Keep in mind when Alabama tried this tactic, it resulted in some of the worst sanctions that program faced. So I'm curious to see if the NCAA treats Miami like they did Bama or if they back down, shamed and humiliated. That will tell us the strength of the NCAA and how much longer they may be around. Just a thought.
They very easily could both be right.
As for the self imposed sanctions on crappy teams going nowhere, most cane fans I know are hoping that works but aren't counting on it. Now if you guys had banned the basketball team from the ncaas , that would have been a legite penalty, but of course that didn't happen.
