The Grand Budapest Hotel looks like a really entertaining possible breakout hit for Wes Anderson. It's only his period period film and has the most impressive cast of any Anderson film. He's got his regular posse in the background, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Jason Swartzman, plus a handful of recent additions, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel and Edward Norton. But Ralph Finnes gets the lead in his first comic role, and big hitters Saorise Ronan, F. Murray Abraham, Willam Defoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law and Tom Wilkinson also get key roles. Like last year's Moonrise Kingdom, he's got a young newcomer, in a co-lead.

It looks like a crazy farcical action comedy film made in the forties or fifties, but it's got Anderson's visual aesthetics all over it, with exquisite period detail and quirky lens and camera movement. Just guessing that Roman Coppola co-write this. Check it out.

Can't wait. Love Wes Anderson films. Only one I didn't like was Darjeeling, and many think me to be crazy for that.
