Obviously our schedule this year (on paper) is brutal. One of the toughest we have ever had. I couldn't find any lists for toughest schedules of all time in college football. Anyone have thoughts on who (top 10 or 20 team) has had the toughest schedule of all time?

Arkansas has a similar schedule as us. Except they don't plays us. Or fsu. They play auburn, Texas tech, NIU ( minus Jordan lynch). Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, mizzou, lsu, olé miss, miss state. That's pretty damn brutal as well. I don't like coach beilemma ' s chances of his first winning season or hell even a game in sec play.

I would give us the edge because a). They play some of their toughest teams at home. Bama, lsu, niu, UGA, olé miss. Plus they don't play us or the defending champs.

We play bama, Tennessee, vandy, and the champs all on the road yet we get lsu, mizzou and the Gamecocks at home with our annual mutual field in jax.

Not sure I see that as an overly tough schedule for Arkansas. It's basically their usual schedule, with UGA and Mizzou rotating in on the East (both lost a LOT of talent including QB), plus OOC games against NUI (lost QB), Texas Tech (8-5 and unranked last year), UAB and Nicholls State. Not exactly brutal. Plus they get UGA, Bama and LSU at home. Only reason Arky's schedule looks tougher than the rest of the SEC West is because they aren't on it.

Texas tech to me is as good if not better than tenn. Don't know how good bandy will be without franklin. Other than that they don't play fsu and USC. But we don't play Texas A&M either. They play UGA as we do same with lsu, bama, plus they play mizzou with a QB that beat us up good last year. It's pretty tough compared to anyone not name UF. Obviously we have the most brutal schedule this year. But when you compare us to arky talent wise, I feel bad for them cause I think we can hang with anyone on our schedule if healthy them, well they're still looking for their first conference win.

It's the same every year, we have to run the gauntlet, but we've seldom received the credit deserved for the schedule we play.

    How about this one! Screenshot_2014-03-27-20-58-11.png

I mean we play the 2 previous national champions in Same season throw in LSU who always is right there. With a borderline top 10 USC and UGA, and a improving vols and that with the fact that we are coming off a 4-8 season ...... that is the meaning of difficult.

Muschamp picked a bad year to be on the hot seat. I don't think he makes it to the UGA game. Foley will bow to booster and fan pressure during the open date after the Mizzou defeat and spare WM the humiliation of a fourth straight loss to his alma mater. Roper or Joker will be interim coach.

It is a tough year to be on the hot seat, no doubt But you assume too much, G&S.

If we can put a functional OL on the field, we'll win at least eight games.

On topic, our 2012 schedule has to be one of the toughest ever for a team that made it to a major bowl. This year looks to be even tougher.

Man!!!!! That schedule looks worse and worse the more I look at it. Not a single team outside of us that had been considered "elite" or even a title contender in nearly a decade. And please no one say clemson, because until clemson learns to beat USC it will never be considered a contender outside of their conference. #pathetic

Not a bad schedule but a few of those teams weren't good or benefited from a weak schedule.

    Lsu 3-7 bad
    ND 5-6 bad
    Ohio St 9-3 horrible schedule
    Pitt 11-1 very good
    Nebraska 9-3 very good
    UM 9-2 good
    UF 7-5 decent
    UL 5-6 bad
    Memphis 1-10 horrible
    So. Miss 9-3 horrible schedule
    W. Carolina 4-7 bad

The good news is that we only play one team each Saturday and have a week to prepare. Also, Georgia Southern is not on this year's schedule.

Ga Southern would likely have been a 9 win team on the Nole schedule and potentially the 2nd best team on their schedule this year.

I think Alabama's 2010 schedule can be considered among the toughest ever. Not necessarily due to the teams they played, but due to the fact that they played 6 consecutive SEC games against teams coming off a bye week. Not surprisingly, Bama lost more games in that season than any other season under Saban except for his first.

Typically, a team will catch 1 team coming off a bye week in a year.
