    http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/375429/issa-accuses-cummings-colluding-irs-eliana-johnson

    from the article:
E-mails unearthed in the course of Issa’s investigation into the IRS’s inappropriate targeting of right-leaning groups show that in January 2013, a member of Cummings’s staff contacted the IRS asking for any publicly available information on True the Vote. The matter was discussed by IRS officials that included Lois Lerner, the former exempt-organizations chief who retired in the wake of the targeting scandal. One of Lerner’s deputies, Holly Paz, subsequently sent the organization’s 990 forms to Cummings and his staff — not an illegal disclosure of taxpayer information, though sources say the exchange of such information was not routine.

Cummings has blasted Issa several times in the past few days. Now Issa comes back with this. Who knows?

Who knows? Learner knows, that's who, but she's hiding behind the 5th. And the administration keeps stonewalling...

Nice that you are finally coming around to see the problem here, river.

Actually, she waived the Fifth by testifying before asserting her right not to self-incriminate. If what she did passes muster, then it's perfectly acceptable for any defendent to take the stand, have his or her say, and then invoke the Fifth when it's the prosecutor's turn to question.

She is merely in contempt of the Congress.

that's what you guys should do. Let's subpoena all Democrats and use the entire scope of the federal govt because you guys lost the election. that's exactly how this country is supposed to work.

I don't think anyone is suggesting such a thing.

But if you say it enough you will certainly believe it... ;)

Republicans have spent millions and millions of dollars, countless hours, investigating everything possible. Who's been charged? Who's been convicted?

Once again... For those of you who seem to have difficulty with comprehension...

Would all this time and money spent be necessary if the White House, the office of the AG and the IRS been forthcoming with the information when they were initially asked ? What? Two years ago?

Obama, Holder, Learner and this committee have been stonewalling this, and other investigations just hoping that they would go away. If crimes have been committed, then let the process proceed.

So they asked for information about a group that is not illegal and were provided with that information, which is again not illegal. So what is the issue here? The article even states no laws were broken by asking for or receiving the information requested. In addition, the article states that based on the timing of the emails, the emails couldn't have been a causal factor in the IRS scrutinizing the organization. So it's not illegal or related to the supposed topic of the investigation. So the issue here is what exactly...

The issue is, at this point, that the White House, the AG and the IRS are interfering with an investigation in which laws may have been broken.

You know, these types of investigations go on every day of the week, in which on the surface, there doesn't appear to have been any laws broken, but the investigations later find out that there were. The difference is, most investigations are not blocked by political operatives.

Let the investigation go on, unhindered, and let the chips fall where they may.

How exactly are they doing that? Nobody in the administration or in any other capacity is allowed to compel testimony due to this thing called the Constitution, short of offering immunity or demonstrating that the rights do not apply, neither of which has legally occurred. Again, nothing in this thread appears to be illegal, so even if that is your issue, what does that have to do with the topic of this thread?

Disseminating taxpayer information to the public IS illegal. What did Cummings do with the information after he received it? Learner will know. So will Cummings.

Problem is, neither one is willing to talk.

How would Lerner know what happened once Cummings staff had the info? Also that wasn't even accused in the article, so that is purely your speculation.

Better question is how will we find out what she knows if she won't talk?

And the rest is you shifting the goalposts.
