So many of us have been discussing how our injuries have hurt or should not have hurt us this year. I don't want anyone to think that I am starting another injury thread. I have an honest question for everyone to participate in without speaking to our issue's.

Let's say for the sake of discussion that the top 5 ranked team's in the BCS poll lost the players listed below for the year to whatever type of injury. Would they still be ranked in the top 5 and what would their record be?

Starters: Offense: QB, RB, LT, RT, WR/ST Defense: Best DT

    1. Alabama (8-0)
    2. Florida State (8-0)
    3. Oregon (8-0)
    4. Ohio State (9-0)
    5. Stanford (7-1)

Alabama would absolutely have a loss to TAMU. Beyond that it's really hard to speculate.

You think FSU would have beat Clemson?

    Yeah, I do.

Winston's a great talent, but FSU is winning on the line (which is, coincidentally, where we're losing).

I believe that OSU would be the team that it would have not affected as much. Somewhat due to their schedule. Although what would have happened in the Northwestern game?

How many of those teams have second string QB and RB who could perform equal to the starter at that position or even better?

    OSU would lose to Northwestern.
    Bama would lose to aTm

My guess is the Stanford/Oregon winner would be ranked #2 behind FSU.

But Would FSU be a big davorite over UF without Winston and all those guys? Doubtful.

    Injuries are the grwat unknown.

Guiton is better than Miller. Meyer went up to Columbus with a mancrush for Braxton Miller and never gave Guiton a chance except when he had no choice. Every time Guiton has gone into a game, he's been spectacular. He's a senior and should have had a better shot at starting. He saved the Purdue game last year and the team doesn't miss a beat and maybe does even better when he plays.

Yep. Agree 100%. Sometimes I wish Cam had more chances to play...he might have been more focused on playing here...and not cheating and thieving.

We were an inept team before the injuries.

Someone clearly didn't pay attention to Kenny Guiton in the games he played in the place of Braxton Miller. Ohio State played their first few games without their starting QB and RB. Both of whom were Heisman candidates, and they didn't miss a beat.

yeah but you take away Winston the two tackles and Tim Jernigan I dont think FSU is undefeated.. The difference with some of these teams is the schedule they play

I keep saying that folks are overstating our injuries on offense. Many of those players weren't contributing much in the first place.

It is clear that Murphy is no worse than Driskel at the QB position.

I think we can all agree that Taylor and Brown are better than Jones, so there was no big loss at the RB position.

Andre Debose has pulled a virtual no-show on offense for 3 years, so why do people keep mentioning him like he was a Heisman finalist?

Our offensive line was pretty shaky with or without those players.

The only thing that you could possibly sell me on being a big loss on offense that has greatly affected us was one of the OT. Think about this, why was Driskel injured? (hint: poor offensive line play)

Losing Driskel is no where near as big a loss as a team losing McCarron, Mariotta, and Winston. ( I think Ohio State and Stanford would be fine with their back-up QBs)

Someone clearly hasn't read the thread. I listed OSU as the LEAST impacted ny losing a QB...the question in the OP was, who would suffer most from losing ALL of those guys that we lost...combined.

I stated they would lose to Northwestern, if they had lost ALL of the starters mentioned...based on the fact that they nearly lost at full strength.

I just posted a few spots up:

It is my opinion that Urban may be playing the wrong guy.
