Im sure many feel we already do this...and I like everybody else would love to have a high flying explosive offense like FSU displayed last night. But unfortunately you have to dance with the girl you brought to the party

We can't change our offensive personnel this season. We can argue all day as to why we have this personnel but that's to be resolved after the season is over

So we need to play old school football...I mean the kind that would make even Mushamp blush. The kind that Stanford fans would call boring. I'm talking Tim Tebow and his 8-pass victory against the Chiefs in 2011 style football

    To do this we need:

    1. We need to play exceptional special teams...fg's and kickoffs can't miss. But most importantly we need to be really sound in situational punt game

    2. Mistake free football...especially no drive extending penalties and no false starts the rest of the season. We cannot go from 2nd and 7 to 2nd and 12

    3. Defense needs to get fully healthy. I think with a healthy Powell and Jacobs we still have a stifling opportunistic defense. I trust WM to be able to keep the score down with a full arsenal on defense

    4. Run the ball close to 50 times out of I formation...using KT as starter and Brown as compliment. Only variations would be Patton jet sweep and occasional play action out of max protect

The blueprint would be last years LSU game...I think our OL if told they just need to focus on mailing the guy in front of them in the run game can actualy succeed

I know this sounds excruciating but it's the only chance we have...THIS SEASON

If Murphy was completely healthy, I would add having him run the ball 15-plus times a game on designed runs. He's the wildcat QB we need.

Not sure our O-line can win games like you propose or not, but I agree that we've got little choice. We absolutely cannot pass protect, and every time we call a pass play that involves routes that go more than 10 yards, Murphy is running for his life.

    This season is a wash.

Hell, we are so old school already that a Woody Hayes coached team would look like it was wide open offense.

Maybe we should try the single wing. I forget how it works, but it worked way back in the day.

Also, does anyone remember "the lonesome end"? Army used it, with everyone wondering how the end, who didn't go to the huddle, knew what the play was. But I don't remember how much good it did.

Ive seen a lot of 5 wide last 2 games...unless I'm imagining things

It looks threatening until the line collapses

We can throw out of max protect and that formation appears one we can run out of as well

Think John Reaves should be a "special consultant " to the off coaches

What 3 yards? Three yards would look like we are opening up the playbook.

Just have Taylor run the wildcat with Patton on jet sweeps. That's all I've got.

Get to the edges because we know the oline isn't going to let anything happen up the middle.

If you look at Miami ...LSU and Mizzou games out of the power I we were able to run effectively but "in an effort to be multiple" went away from it

I think this year it's all we're capable of...

Well it has been four years since we've run it.
