College football is an arms race when it comes to recruiting so maybe Champ should look at bringing a guy like Trooper Taylor or Eddie Gran in for recruiting. They produce results when it comes to recruiting and we need to add some serious depth. There is no reason that we can't be two deep at every position.

Champ's standards are too high for that type of coach and certainly some of the players that might be attracted to them. I am willing to gamble with a player that has a tarnished past. Our coaches seem to pass up on so many projects. Other schools take them quickly and they seem to do just fine. We need to get back to Florida recruiting. I understand there are diamonds in the ruff, but we have the best talent in the country right here. Win the big four (Jax, Tampa, Miami, Orlando) and we will dominate sooner than later.

Why not sell all of your soul and get Ogeron?

we are recruiting at a high level not too many people better than DJ and Trob. Depth should not be an issue going forward after this season because of the last two classes. Not more than 4 teams have recruited better than UF in the past few years.

Unfortunately, this is why I believe many are frustrated with the results we are getting. I look forward to having the roster back from injuries next year and hope the product in the field equals the recruiting effort off of it!

I'd love to hire Ogeron. As if the assistants already on staff are so much better. The guy is looking out for his career and probably his family. So what? He would have been an idiot not to leave with Lame to return to USC. Bring him in and set him out on the recruiting trail.

    Exactly

Those are 3 of the shadiest characters in the game. Why don't we bring in Jackie Sherrill as "special consultant" while we're at it?

Whoever suggested this is making the case to axe WM, if that's what he needs to excel.

Better players with this offensive system would be the worst thing that could happen for our long term prospects. We'll end up being a stocked team that ALMOST gets to the top, but never does. Our current excuse-making fans would prevent us from ever making changes. What we need is some better coaching to go along with the talent that should be pretty much automatic at a place like UF.

    On paper yes.

So it's coaching the. I guess? Or not enough good players? Thoughts?

I don't think it's fair to say that the offense you've seen in Muschamp's first 3 years represent his system. These have largely been makeshift efforts to bridge some fairly significant personnel gaps, which 2 of the 3 years have been further compounded by injuries.

Give it time. Next year we'll see a major upgrade and by 2016 we'll likely be one of the greatest offenses in the nation.

The new recruits are just young and need some time.

I don't share that confidence. My complaint isn't with the talent or even execution, it's with the philosophy of how to best move the ball and score. Although all good coaches adapt to personnel to some extent, I would find it very odd that a coach would wait until year 4 to suddenly change into an entirely different system because he had some "personnel gaps" in years 1-3.

I'd rather lose than have any of those mentioned above associated with the program.

Can we just get some overachieving 3 stars instead of the other kind, who will work their asses off and kick butt ?
