Honestly, at this point I just pray we have a Riley Cooper or a Louis Murphy.
What -------- no Aaron Gonzalez?
Mr Adam Lane, he can run, block, and nuch more, Jones has the perfect size but cannot get out of the blocks.
There's not really a guy on the roster that's a gamechanger from anywhere on the field. Guys like Showers and Bailey can be effective from the slot and on jet sweeps or screens so they're probably the guys that are most similar.
I think it depends on how we are defining that "type" of player. If we define it as a WR/RB combo package, I agree with you in full. There are almost never WRs who can perform consistently as a RB at that level. Didn't Willis McGahee make a position switch, rather than doing both?
If we define that "type" of player as being a dynamic/game changing WR, I think there are potentially several in the cfb now. I realize Sammy Watkins isn't in cfb now, but he was certainly dynamic and highly productive as a WR. Stephon Diggs has the capability of being that dynamic WR. Oregon State's Brandin Cooks gained 1700 yds receiving and averaged 6.8 yds on 32 carries. Agholor at USC could be a dynamic WR this year. Round it out with Amari Cooper (who I expect will break out this year), Jordan Matthews at Vandy and Michigan's Jeremy Gallon.
I was prepared for the question engendering overreactions.
