I guess? I mean you can play this any way you like. The SEC West team team that made it ducked Georgia and the SEC East team that made it ducked Texas A&M.

If only the "Evil SEC Empire" would have scheduled a game between UF and UGA last year, then we would have had a shot to win the East...

In other words, it sucks, but we had our shot and fumbled (literally) it away. We'll win the East this year and next!!! :D

go to the NFL way of schedules, get rid of cross divisional rivals and schedule the best vs the best every year.

If you look at last year's SEC only stats, you see florida as the most penalized team at 55 penalties for 476 yards. Our opponents in those same games were penalized 59 times for 481 yards. So, maybe the Swamp is just loud, or maybe we have sloppy games, etc. But, if our opponents get penalized as much as us, there shouldn't be an advantage. You can't look at UK's penalties in that crypt of a stadium, rather look at their penalties when they play us. Last year's figures show NO bias.

Bottom line... Bama and UGA both played only 2 top 12 teams. We played 5, LSU played 3. Bama and UGA both went 1-1, while we went 4-1, LSU went 2-1 but we were the ones on the outside looking in to the SECCG. If we take away the divisions or consider wins/losses in the East division, we would have been in while UGA would have been out. If there was a 3 way tie between USC, UF and UGA, we would have also been in. Schedules mean everything, especially in the SEC.

And Bama played 2. And we played 5 (four in the SEC).

LSU's extra top 10 game (compared to Bama) was a loss to us, knocking them out of the running.

We played 4 top 10 SEC opponents to just two for UGA. If UGA plays our schedule, they almost certainly lose at least one more game.

If Bama played UGA last year, which they should have on their normal rotation, one of the two teams would have been knocked out of the SEC Championship game.

The schedule directly impacted the SEC divisional winners. Clearly.

While I agree with you, the thing that had the MOST impact on the division winners were the results of the games. i.e. the winner of Florida/Georgia

Bingo. Beat UGA and we go to Atlanta regardless of schedule. Can't wait to stomp 'em this year.

Some people here say this schedule is about how Alabama is scheduled. And, to some others it's about how much easier our Eastern rivals like Georgia is scheduled compared to us. So say our resident conspiracy theorists. But me... I really don't care about the strength, or difficulty, of our schedule. I just want to be the best at the end of the year. To be the best you have to beat the best.

And when isn't this the case? And isn't it the luck of the draw? It seems the complaint here is that UGA got a good draw two years straight. That happens.

Alabama has gone out and actually scheduled decent teams at the beginning of the year and we get our cupcakes

More specifically, Bama and UGA were supposed to be playing each other on rotation.

If they play as normally scheduled, one of them is watching the SEC Championship from the stands or their TVs.

That is a predictable situation before the season. And given who is running the show, I don't think it is coincidental that instead of playing as scheduled, Bama got Kentucky whom they had played more recently (2009), and UGA got Ole Miss whom they had played more recently (2011).

How often have these "challenging teams" been better than FSU? Beating a Michigan team that lost the Outback Bowl on a neutral field is a bit easier than beating the Orange Bowl Champion Noles in Doak.

It doesn't matter, their opponents look better than ours at the beginning of the year.

Michigan, VTech(2), WVU, PSU, and Clemson> Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami of ohio, and Hawaii...

They have their cupcakes too but they always go out and get a game at the beginning of the year. Regardless if the team is a top 25 team or not they sell better and look better than the garbage that we get
