Seen something interesting in a Gainesville Sun article that peaked my interest so I decided to do some research..and if this doesnt hit you right between the eyes, i don't know what will:

"SEC executive associate commissioner Mark Womack, who oversees league football scheduling," - Gainesville Sun Article.

So I decided to look at the bio of Womack, and....

"Mark Womack joined the Southeastern Conference staff in 1978 upon graduation from the University of Alabama and has served the conference in numerous capacities ranging from Assistant Public Relations Director to Acting Commissioner."

"While at Alabama, Womack worked in the athletic department’s sports information office for two years before receiving his degree in Communications with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Promotional Management. Womack grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and attended Tuscaloosa High school where he was a three-year starter at quarterback, leading his team to the semifinals of the state championship his senior year."

Ladies and Gentlemen, i believe we have a fox in the hen house! What say you?

If Bama wanted an easy road, why put UF on the schedule over UK?

I don't have a problem with Alabama's schedule. It's Georgia never having to play them while we get them twice as often that I have a problem with. It shouldn't matter one way or the other to Alabama which of the two teams they play.

Totally agree, but if the 2014 schedule is a one-and-done, with no rematches the following year for Florida at Bama and others like it, they should have done a better job looking at matching up teams that haven't played for awhile in the regular season.

My understanding that Bama and UGly haven't met since 2008

I'm fairly certain if you look at most of the bio's of the employees over at the SEC you will read a similar story. The head of officials is a Bama grad as well. Can you imagine if the SEC headquarters was located in Gainesville?

Well he's gonna have to pit bama against the gators sometime..give Georgia an easy schedule so they're rested and healthy...I believe he's confident that bama can beat the dawgs in a championship setting..eventhough Georgia came close to beating bama last year, it was still mission accomplished. Combine that with bamas record vs. the gators in the sec title game...just looks way too set up.

Who cares. To me it's about watching great match ups. I want to get the best for my ticket and time.

If scheduling cupcakes is what people want.....go be an fsu fan or if you just care about being 11-0 every year . Be a buckeye fan.

Me I wanna see great football

Then again, if this were the case why schedule Florida?

Unless you went to College Station and are going to Tuscaloosa, you aren't getting the best for your ticket $. There isn't a return trip for those 2 games. It isn't about cupcakes, it's about fairness and getting to Atlanta.

+1 I don't think he did them a favor but I don't know if he did them any harm either. Alabama will have the entire summer plus a bye week to prepare for Florida while Florida won't have that luxury by facing Kentucky the week before. This can be a good or bad thing for Alabama since they're playing two patsies prior to the Gators. The good is they'll have an extra week to prepare, but the bad is their starters will not have had as much playing time prior to the game unless Saben decides to keep them in those games.

Actually, I think everyone is missing the boat...the favortism for the past several years has been towards Georgia. The SEC would like Georgia to win a title because they would like to tout how many different SEC teams have won a title and Georgia is an SEC elite program that they would like to finally break through with a championship....that is why the scheduling has been so obviously skewed in UGA's favor to help give them an advantage.

So it's a conspiracy to get UGA an SEC title? Why not Tennessee or South Carolina or Arkansas?

That could be. Or maybe Dooley has pictures of league officials in compromising positions.

Whatever the case, UGA is getting a cake schedule far too often for it to be a coincidence.

Because that is the only team to fit their conspiracy theory. Everyone knows Bama grads love Georgia! :Eye roll: What a bunch of nonsense being spewed on here. We play UGA every year. We can put an end to any mysterious conspiracy by beating some dog butt.

According to Phil Steele there are 5 SEC teams with easier schedules than Georgia.

Thus I have concluded that the SEC is conspiring to get a national title for Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Alabama.
