There is of course no good reason, other than it is already there, and the symbolic value to certain people (who will never take said oath) who want to think that their values are under assault.

True, 55 complaints between 2001 and 2013 wouldn't be considered an "epidemic." But information contained in the link was published in May, 2005, making 55 complaints in 4 years something worth investigating.

Still so small its not measurable in %. But that is the over reactionary military for you. We have a Soldier get killed in a drunk driving accident off post and the whole damn military will conduct a safety stand down where we are bombarded with EO, EEO, SHARP, safety, etc. classes for an entire day.

I had a commanding general once upon a time require EVERY SOLDIER in the command wear a small yellow sticker on their wrist watch to remind them to think safety first. If you wore a watch, this sticker had to be on there. Company First Sergeants were required to carry sheets of these stickers around with them so they could give out to Soldiers. These were a required part of our pre combat inspections. It got so ridiculous we joked about being able to take a .50 cal round center mass and as long as we had our yellow dot, we would be fine.

So color me soooooooo unimpressed when the military addresses something because most of the time there is nothing to it and over reacting.

The statistical point you are trying to make might be significant if it, as you seemingly suggest, encompassed the entire military. But it did not. All the incidents occurred at one military installation - the USAFA in Colorado Springs.

Very few things on this board make me actually chuckle. And in a thread filled with a whole lot of nothingness, your post did. Congrats.

You can understand the difference between formal written policy and culture and "informal' or subculture that is not based on policy but on the personalities of the folks involved.

There was no policy of sexual abuse in the Navy, yet the Tailhook scandal happened all the same.

After the House Steno's outburst on the Freemasons last week, I'm still trying to figure out what Washington might be doing here.

I don't see a pentagram or any freaky ritualistic looking stuff. Is Satan into horses?

Or is George just reworking some Geometry calculations in his head?

    Enquiring minds want to know.

Maybe he's just burying the national treasure so that Nick Cage won't find it in the future.

So you choose broad sweeping change instead of just dealing with the offenders? Maybe it's just the chance to take a shot at the believers, you know kind of like what this administration does whenever they get the chance.

Not taking any shot any believer. I don't see how you come up with that.
