I hope he likes us as much as we like him... We have to sign him.
GC should be number 1 priority. Send the best recruiters and lock him down. Must get.
Wouldn't characterize him as having "stone hands." He just seems to have a hard time adjusting to balls not thrown right into his jersey numbers. Looks great running but a little clumsy reaching down or behind him. He actually has nice form when the ball is place nicely, especially over his shoulder. With those wheels and his height, there really shouldn't be anyone near him on deep routes.
I just hope Grier can throw it that far. I remember Percy having to slow down to catch balls Tebow threw, and Tim could throw it pretty deep, just not with the same velocity as Rex or the touch Chris had.
Grier's got a gun and might have as fast a five or seven step drop as Rex. That's key to getting the ball deep down field. Drop-plant-read and throw. Nice mechanics and a incredible fast twitch muscles.
Surprised to see Rivals doesn't have James Pensyl ranked.
Those guys were known for having great hands and great route running ability and putting up huge reception numbers in high school. They had nice size, but they surprised people with their 40 times in the combines. Campbell is an athlete at this point and for the moment, this program is not known for developing WRs quickly. Quite the opposite in fact. What we can hope for with Campbell is that nobody can keep up with him. We send him in motion and have him cut deep up field, or we use him on jet sweeps. Otherwise, he looks like a great free safety and our next great 200m guy on the track team.
He reminds me of Randy Moss, physically speaking, except Moss had great hands.
And a checkered past.
Rex was a gamer, period.
