I thought this might be a nice change from the type of posts that usually have this title.

Muslim Man Gives Needy Bus Rider The Shoes Off His Feet And Walks Home Barefoot -- Because There Is Good In The World

“It made my heart melt,” Virk explained to QMI Agency. “He just took his shoes and socks off and said, 'You can take these, don't worry about me — I live close by and can walk.'"

When reached by phone, the kind-hearted man asked QMI Agency not to identify him, because his Muslim faith teaches that charitable acts should be anonymous.

If you look hard enough, you could also probably find some kind hearted Christians. ;)

I would imagine you can but that really has nothing to do with this thread unless the OP made a statement that Christians don't do this sort of thing.

I am sure there are plenty of kind hearted Muslims who do not want to destroy America and are not radical killers- does not change what radicals do

Of course, which is why people shouldn't paint with a wide brush. Which is what happens when people mockingly invoke "the religion of peace" (ie all Muslims) when pointing to a bad act by an extremist.

This point should be fairly self-evident.

I think one can make a case that their customs are a wee bit harsh on women and gays. Of course you never hear a word for the "war on women" or the homophobe crowd

If I may speak for a few "civilized" people out here, religious affiliation has little to do with whether you are good or not. Any religion has some pretty malevolent ideas out there (The Inquisitions seem to be the high-water mark for Christianity). Where I think the "sane" world gets the Muslims in trouble (I guess it is the other way around) is that there seems to be a large contingent in the Muslim faith who have a "tsk-tsk" attitude about terrorist attacks. I guess the closest recent equivalent would be abortion clinic bombings and some "Christians." If there isn't repudiation and real effort to identify and isolate these characters by "their side" then I don't see much in the way of real compassion. The situation with Bin Laden and Pakistan is NOT a way to prove to the world that you abhor terrorism and their ilk.

You just hope that people around the folks who are characterized in the OP are discerning enough to know what a moral person looks like and not what someone else tells them. JMHO

There are equal amounts of good and bad people among all major religions when looked at over time. As a ex catholic i look back at the Spanish Inquisition and the crusades as an example of incredible Christian brutality. Fortunately western society divorced religion and government. The same needs to happen with the Muslim religion.

Our freshman quarterback did the same thing recently.

He happens to be a Christian.

Agreed, that a person who sees a fellow man in need and meets it, is indeed, his brother's keeper.

The Spanish Inquisition....lol...Well that was certainly some time ago. At that point in time there was brutality on every continent in the world. You anti-Christians really need new material.

We need only look back to 1998 to recall the Omaha bombing and catholic vs Protestant violence after the Protestant led annexation of Ireland.

Given the right opportunity Christians are just as liable to commit acts of terror.

1998 Omaha bombing? Ireland is complete desperation on your part.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Any stoning's, beheadings or suicide bombings worthy of noting?

Remember, Islam is 500 years younger than Christianity. And 500 years ago, Christianity wasn't as peaceful as it is today. You had the Protestant movement, counter-Catholic movement, the not-so-necessarily-peaceful spread of Christianity to the new world, etc. Fortunately, Christianity evolved into a much more peaceful religion and reformation thinkers decided to keep religion and government separate, which has lead to the tolerance we see today among the majority of Christians. Unfortunately for Islam, their followers don't have 500 years to get to the same point. World is much "smaller" today.

Not really implied, but we've been down this road before. I'm just glad to see someone do something that is extraordinary... who just happens to be Muslim... I like that.
