Just thought I'd put this hear for Dream

Very interesting study about the Cuban Embargo that caused widespread food and petrol shortages leading to decreased intake for Cuban citizens and increased exercise getting through their daily lives. The result was an average population-wide decrease in weight of 5.5 kg (12.1 lbs) which a subsequent increase years later when the economy bounced back on its own.

Looks like diabetes is linked to obesity...

All we need is an embargo!

The interesting thing, in the US, is that heart disease has been declining for decades now ... as Americans have gotten fatter and fatter.

And diabetes certainly is associated with obesity. But there is little evidence that it causes it. We do know that heart disease and diabetes are largely heritable, particularly diabetes.

Amazing how someone seemingly as intelligent and articulate as dream can draw the conclusion he does with such disregard for the numerous variables in modern day life.

Guess I'm on a fat jihad too now.. lame

Dream doesn't draw conclusions here. Rather, Dream draws from conclusions.

I leave others to struggle with the implications of the conclusions. I've moved past that.
