Because Obama-care is preventing American businesses from hiring more people, so corperations are doing more with less people... And last time I checked profits were the main goal of businesses, not hiring 'possible' dead weight... just to make a POTUS look better..

As a supporter of Obama for the last 2 elections, why are you asking this question of someone else? Didn't he promise to help the middle and lower classes as part of his campaign? You voted for him, has he met your expectations here? If not, why not? What should he have done that you expected him to do but didn't? Again, why ask someone who never fell for his BS to answer a question the guy you voted for should be answering?

I'm not sure it's been proven that Obamacare effects employment.....many companies are dumping insurance and informing employees to enroll in Obamacare. It's an Obamacare scare that conservatives repeat to justify low wages and unemployment.....it works.

Losing my insurance is not a "scare" it's a direct result of Obama-care. But we'll see if Obama-care is the problem with high un-employment in the near future that I believe it is. It could be a result of his other economic policies as well.

well then I guess you need to do better job of explaining it to me- profitable companies mean more jobs-and you do seem to have a long held resentment against corporations who make a lot of money

Aren't businesses in business to make money? Unless they are a non-profit? Would anyone with a lick of common sense take undue risks with all the uncertainty of Obamacare and this administration's high handed "punish the successful" rhetoric?

I don't resent businesses or large corporations making a healthy profit.......it's when they make profits from policies that hurt the middle class. You don't understand that.

I hope you don't have to deal with skyrocketing costs for your insurance too. And the cost will increase drastically... just wait and see...

Another option - serious tax breaks for the middle class.

The middle classes' income has been pocketed by CEOs, their jobs moved overseas.

Soon we will only have the rich and their handmaidens left.

Explain how a business making record profits, hurts the middle class. Start with apple and google...two good examples of firms making record profit. Or ford motor company. Do tell us how profitability, hurts middle Income at any of these. We are all ears.

Realistic options you're posting brainstorm, and I think it's pretty apparent that no one in Washington really cares about the middle class, that's why nothing is being done. Rand Paul recently said that our country needs someone a little outside of the mainstream - someone who wasn't just another party line-toter, and I think he's right, and until we get someone like that - we're just in for more of the same.

I believe the Board of most companies decides what they pay the CEO

am surprised you are complaining about what pro athletes make vs the cost of attending a game

They can get fat bonuses based on the profitability of hiring non-Americans and sending their neighbors to the unemployment line.

Then they run to the polls to vote for people who cut off unemployment benefits.

Higher CO pay cannot explain all of it. Perhaps off shoring but would love to see some data. It seems providing tax breaks would entice companies to bring jobs back home.
