I believe WM and the staff will use adversity to motivate the gators to playing harder than ever. Once we were the hunted but now the team with backs against the wall will become the hunters. I believe we will see some great things from this team. We have plenty of teeth left and it starts this Sat.

Without Doubt! Yes, we lost an All American D lineman but unlike some on this board I do not believe Coach Will Muschamp is for one minute whining about it or wringing his hands. Leave it to the pessimists to wallow in it and continue lamenting the injury as if all was lost-get a grip. We have recruited well as you will see and are a force that will attack both offensively and defensively.

I love the thought, but my guess is we are still the hunted, but now the hunters smell blood.

Wounded prey can be dangerous though!

    Go Gators.

Teams that take us lightly are apt to be the ones bloodied!

We just need to overcome the adversity on the field.

Even without Easley we have the best defense in the East and perhaps the SEC!

    My bad.

I did use all caps when I put that on our tailgate crew t-shirts, so I have that going for me...

I can certainly understand them using these unfortunate injuries as a means of motivation and I think we will see some better football out of this team because of it.

But as for UK this weekend, lets not get too far ahead of ourselves about Tyler Murphy. I know a lot of Gators want to see some kind of Tyler Murphy offensive explosion, but I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of frustrated Gator fans Saturday night because Muschamp will most likely keep a lid on taking any serious chances or risks on offense and play a defense and field position game @ UK Saturday night.

muschamp will play it safe with a new qb--get a lead, run the ball, eat clock, play D--uf wins by 10-13

That's how I see it too. Capitalize on uk's mistakes, run a lot and play field position.

Our defense has something to prove.....that they can remain dominant without Easely! I think they will get a few turnovers and give the offense great field position. I'm thinking 31-3.

And you have to remember. This is a really bad UK team. I don't see them getting out of their own way Saturday.

Kentucky's defense held Louisville's high-powered offense and Teddy Bridgewater to 27 points, I'd be elated if we score 31

I have to believe that we have enough manpower to win against UK. And then another friendly home game against Arkansas. Time enough to get the reserve players up to speed. Muschamp wants tough players and the next 2 games will be valuable for that, especially the mental side.

After that, who knows how things will hash out but it should be interesting.

Unlike 2011, the timing of our injuries gives our backups time to get up to speed. Freshmen Driskel and Brissett got thrown into the fire against Alabama and LSU.

Murphy gets a tune-up game against UK and a slightly tougher Arkansas the following week before hitting the meat of our conference schedule.

I have an idea we will score more points not because of a Tyler Murphy offensive explosion but because we will do a better job of taking care of the football. I see us turning the ball over less, taking less sacks and sustaining drives. As a result I believe we will be in the red zone more and score more points. We will not be the fun and gun again but our offense will be more effective.
