Not much compares to watching a big snook crash the water. I'd love to have seen to look on your son's face!

Well I just caught the biggest snook in my life last night, on U.S. 41 at port of the Isles, she came in at a whopping 49 inches and 33 lbs. Yes sir, was a heck of a fight, sadly I didn't have a camera or my phone so the only thing I have is the memory. Put up a heck of a fight. Still get goose bumps thinking about it.

she demolished a maverick golden eye, red with chartreuse and white, I have fished with these lures since I was a kid at night and have had success with then when they woudln't even hit live bait. I also use a little mullet sent on my lures, and it helps as well.

No, I fish close to the west coast, near Marco Island down US 41, its brackish water, and the snook grow big and mean on that long stretch of highway between naples and miami.

Awesome! We've caught some large snook like that over the years fishing from land on the north side of the Jupiter inlet on incoming tides.

I've always wanted to try the snook fishing over that way, and around Stuart.

    Redfish Pass today

Not the best day to go today but had a chance to go so took it. Wife and son both got keepers, 29 and 30 inches. Lot of small snook caught, lost what I think was a big bull shark when he chewed through the wire, saw several large tarpon rolling in the pass, caught a few trout, reds were scarce with the north wind, mullet were thick everywhere; overall a good day on the water and home by 4

if you ever wanted to fish with a world class guide that is just an old cracker raised in the area this is your man. his boat and his equipment aren't fancy but he has every species in the area patterned down to a science. He grew up on this patch of water and knows it forward and backwards. We almost had an inshore slam fishing in 4 hours with small shrimp and soft baits a day after a cold front blew through and the winds were out of the north at 20 mph. He is a favorite to run other's boats in the fishing tournaments so you have to book him early if you want to fish tournaments. He is the most humble guy and makes me feel really stupid every time I go fishing with him as he has forgotten more about catching these fish than I will ever know. he is great with kids and will bring his golden lab Hank with if you don't mind.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll have to do that, I think that would be perfect for my wife to go. I don't have a boat any longer, and she doesn't like fighting off the skeeters on 41 when I go down that way. Plus I've always wanted to learn the area waters around fort myers, and sanibel. I usually fish everglades city and the ten thousand islands when I had my boat.
