They just held TENNESSEE, a team that has beaten us the last 3 times we met, ---15 Points--- under their season LOW in scoring, which was 56.

Missed the game, but the defense must have been suffocating. I'd just seen UT play UK and was impressed with the combo of Maymon and Stokes. You guys pretty much stayed with them in rebounding also.

Vol guards suck. Scotty was a one man wrecking crew on defense. Fantastic rotation.

I don't know the #s, but it's time to start thinking about this as Billy's best defensive squad. I remember being really concerned about losing our defensive coaching guru, Larry Shyatt. Not sure if the defensive scouting is handled by Pelfrey, but it's been awfully good.

The defense has really gotten better than it was at the beginning of the year - and it wasn't bad then! When the team rotates & plays together like that, it's as much fun to watch as good offense.

One of the best defensive efforts you will ever see in a game.

The defensive rotation is one of the best I've ever seen, college or pro. They don't give up on plays and challenge almost every shot. Incredible defense.

    Antonio Barton 1-7
    Jordan McRae 1-15
    Josh Richardson 0-7
    That's a combined 6.9% shooting!

By efficiency stats, this defense is still significantly behind 2006 and 2013, which actually was our best statistical squad. Though I'll say that this outing finally reminded me of the best of last year.

I've checked the box score, but I think the stat of the game is 6 - the number of threads about Florida or the UT/UF game on UK's most popular board.

Borntobe---- you are exactly correct. They had TN frustrated the whole day and they forced their offense out 30 ft. Great, great win. Happy for you guys!

I assume that these must be raw stats? Weird that 2006 and 07 rank so low in that metric.

Well, it's the number of points per possession so I'm not sure what you mean by raw stats. Perhaps a particular year was one in which we had fewer possessions. Here's the site - http://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/stat/defensive-efficiency
