    Teams win championships, not players.

I always found Peyton to be very classy. No reason to root against him. In fact, once players get to the pros I generally don't care where they went to school. I drop my hatred for FSU, UGA, etc... the moment they graduate unless it happens to be a player I truly dislike (Winslow jr, dockett come to mind).

I didn't get a chance to catch the documentary but I will make sure I DVR it.

Yeah, those Mannings just aren't that good... I guess whatever teams DID win the SEC those years must have had better QB's?

No person, no dad, no player is 100% perfect. We all have flaws and moments that are regrettable. Archie and the Mannings no different. Actually, I was more impressed with Archie the dad than Archie the player. He never lost sight of his priorities in raising his children. And of course his wife was just as instrumental although the spotlight was not really on her. IMO the world would be a much better place if it were filled with parents that instill love, respect and values in their children.

PS, I bet there are a lot of dads here at GC who are doing a great job at being a dad.

Fair enough. Let me rephrase...I don't hate a player anymore. Still hate the school.

I've watched bits here & there, but what I've seen is very good/interesting. I've always respected Peyton (even liked as much as you can for a rival.)

No one suggested "worshipping" athletes. The main point was how a successful and well known player made it a priority of being a great dad to his 3 boys. For me, it wasn't what he accomplished on the playing field it was what he accomplished on the home front.

I'd be tea bagging women too if I was Peyton. They seem to be a good family, football wise Peyton is head and shoulders above his dad and Eli.

Peyton Manning's record as a starter was 39-6 in college. Todd Helton (of the Colorado Rockies) started the '94 Florida game. You are right about Ole Miss but Tennessee did win the 1997 SEC Championship in Peyton's senior season.

What are you guys talking about? Lol! Tennessee did win the 1997 SEC Championship. They beat Auburn 30-29 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Peyton Manning was the MVP. I was there.

No worshiping of athletes or celebrities here. This TV show is a human interest one to me, with well known people. Archie overcame poverty, his dad committed suicide apparently because of having difficulty over providing for his family, his son had a life threatening illness that ended his football, his sons did some disappointing things (like Eli arrested being drunk). If you've ever been thru Drew, MS., you'll see what I mean about a great story by itself of someone succeeding from that town. Archie showed love and held his family together. This is for DADS showing the trials of life.

No....opinions are fine. Juvenile ones just wear thin after a while.

The tea bag, subtitle, stuff is juvenile and doesnt fit into this conversation.

I'm a dad, I have a great dad. The family element is a story many of us relate to.

Seemed a silly place to drop the nonsense into.
