    This was on seccountry:

Florida extended offers Thursday to 2018 JUCO defensive tackle Emmit Gooden. Gooden is ranked the nation’s No. 7 DT and No. 19 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite JUCO rankings. Gooden was previously committed to Arkansas under Florida’s new assistant director of player personnel, E.K. Franks. The Gators are pushing to get him on campus for an official visit.

oh wow 85-78=7 can be signed in February. I would like 2 LBs, 1DE, 1DL, 2 OL, and 1 S since Mullen says they need a safety

I don't generally favor JUCOs, they rarely do anything more than being a rather distant backup. Reggie Nelsons and Eddie Pinerios are far an away the exceptions here. The ones who went to JUCO because they didn't get high enough test scores are sometimes exceptions to this rule of thumb.

2018 receiver Geordon Porter (6-2, 180, Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Etiwanda) picked up an offer on Tuesday. Porter has already taken three official visits and visits Tennessee this weekend. Porter says he’s deciding on fifth visit between Florida, Texas A&M, Oregon State and Iowa State.

Not sure if offering another WR this late is a bad sign or not.

Yikes you don't pass on a guy like Jacob Copeland if he wants to join. We only have 9 WR on the roster going into 2018 counting Rick Wells. Most coaches want 11-12 WR on their roster. I haven't heard any numbers from CDM but we certainly have room and need 2 more WR.

Two more offers for the 2018 class:

3-star CB, Rashad Wildgoose (decommit from UGA) from south Florida.

3-star CB, Noah Boykin (committed to Maryland) from DC.

Mullen and crew are going back to their MSU recruits both high school and those in the JUCO ranks that they recruited out of high school. Wouldn't surprise me if it is a 50/50 split on 7 Feb between UF recruits and those those they recruited at MSU

Late offers are generally a sign of concern or bad news regarding players left on the board. The CB offers are understandable. The DL offers are not a good sign. The 650+ Best player? JUCO’s? 3* WRs? This does not look like we are going to crush it at the end. It looks like we are taking bodies.

As mentioned above, we have had very poor performances from our JUCO recruits. RFN was the absolute best player in Fl. in HS and Eddie was one of the luckiest moves we ever made.

I am incredibly glad that we moved on from CJM but don’t believe it is fair to criticize his recruiting as he had a killer class lined up this year many of which we have or may lose. It took his staff 3 years to become known as they had no entree into the state. I don’t believe he would have been successful anyway but you have to admit the way the ‘18 and ‘19 classes were going recruiting was getting better.

There is no way to compare CJM and Kirby as UGA has no instate competition. Once again, you can trash me if you want. I could not sit through another year of CJM, Nuss and Randy F’ing up our players but their was talent coming in.

Might I suggest taking a ten day self-imposed away time from the recruiting board. Recruiting is like weather. If you don't like what you are seeing, wait a few weeks, it will change.

KerrDog thanks for not trashing, but can you find anyone that would agree with GaTech being competition for UGA in recruiting? Been living in Ga. since ‘73 and Tech has never out-recruited Jawja. No argument with border states competing for players in Ga. but there is no comparison to the state of Fl.

Regarding Matherly’s suggestion: Have been on this board since inception and am not sure what my post has to do with taking a leave. Just offering an opinion like so many others. Will not respond further.

It was a joke Notorious had going, see previous posts. Nothing personal to you. Please always feel free to offer an opinion. I'm the one that's been considering some time away.
