So today, Aaron Murray set the record for passing yards in the SEC. It's a nice record, and there's no question he's a very good player.

But consider. Over his 4 years:

    • UT has been down
    • UF has been (mostly) down
    • NEVER played Alabama in the regular season
    • Played LSU only ONCE in the regular season - in Athens this year
    • Played ZERO difficult SEC road games outside Columbia, SC

And yet he will most likely complete a very nice career with no SEC titles (let alone national titles).

I know it sounds like sour grapes. But I really wish someone would remember how incredibly lucky this kid has been with schedule over his 4 years.

He's good but I wouldn't consider him no legend Qb compared to the many that have came out of the SEC

Yeah, I just heard him called a legend during the broadcast. The kid has won absolutely nothing.
Not even in the same league as Danny.

Not only has he not won anything, but he's had EVERY SINGLE CONCEIVABLE BREAK, with regard to schedule. Again. This is unprecedented, is it not?

Well, I doubt Keith Marshall's an Aaron Murray fan today.

He's also 6-11 against ranked teams. He was 4-11 until recent wins over SC and LSU.

    That is rather telling.

I think Murray is a good college quarterback. I mean, he's going to break Wuerffel's record. How much of a "mirage" can that really be?

The Georgia game scared me before Marshall's injury. At the rate that players are dropping in the SEC, I have no idea whether or not Gurley will be available for their game against us. But if he does and he's healthy, he's going to allow Murray to get a lot of one-on-one matchups on the outside, and I think Murray's the one QB on our schedule, with enough talent at the WR position, to move the chains against our defense.

I know that Mettenberger is probably the better pro prospect, and the LSU game will probably be more difficult than I'm thingking, but the only thing that proved to be a "mirage" in that game last week was the LSU front four. Nobody was impressed with them.

Not only that the kid has choked every year in a big game. This year it is was Clemson but it gets ignored.

Yeah, Danielson kinda glossed over everything trying to portray Murray as being clutch.

I think UGa is 2-9 vs Top 15 teams with Murray at QB.

Lol...I cringed when I heard Vern say AM is on the verge of being a legend, as if he was saying AM is almost on the same plane as Danny. Its actually pretty funny when I think about it.

It depends on how you define the term "best QB." And that's a subject that can get complicated quickly when testosterone and ego come into play.

Anyway, regardless of what Murray has done in big games, he's 2-1 against us. He was pretty bad for the majority of last year's game, but still made throws that counted when he needed to. I don't think he's even among the top-ten QBs of all time in this conference, regardless of whether or not he breaks Wuerffel's record; but he's good enough to lead Georgia to a victory in any game.

I was thinking this earlier, while the announcers were gushing over him. He's a very good quarterback, but I just don't see him up there with the greats.

AJ = championships and big games = why he should be considered the best

If you subscribe to the theory that the best QB is the QB with the best team. Put Manziel on that team and they destroy everyone.

Today will determine his legacy as a Georgia QB from a Gator standpoint. If they win, then he has had the most success against Florida as a Georgia QB in a long time. If they lose, he goes down as the QB who didn't beat the worst Florida team in a long time.
