We didn't just get by in that game, we took it. Auburn was getting by. This game we came out and got punched in the mouth by the punk. He had 22 points in the first half. BIG FAT ZERO after. This second half epitomizes the kind of gator team this is.

This is maybe the best 2nd-half team I've ever seen. In particular, we LOCK DOWN AND LOCK IN in the last 8 minutes.

I believe we took Ole Missy's best shot

Without a doubt. You seldom see a player as dominant as henderson was in that first half

Prather had maybe his worst offensive game of the year too. Missed several lay-ups he's been making all season. I thought it was funny Gottlieb kind of hinted Ole Miss was setting the blueprint for how to slow him down by sagging off and daring him to shoot. First of all, everybody does that. Secondly, he was driving right by their guys like their feet were glued to the floor. He just missed the shots.

Gotta play better against the zone because people will absolutely zone us in the tournament and they'll do it better than Mississippi did.

We won't see many down performances like that from Prather. Shots he usually makes rolled off today.

I cannot analyze why but our D in first half was not very good although it looked like we were hustling. Donovan really coached them up at half time and they came out with more purpose, especially the second part of the second half.

I'm not the coach, but it looked like we were so intent on stopping Henderson, we let other guys get shots. The bad part was, even though we covered Henderson tight, he STILL went off on us. Once he cooled off in the 2nd, some other guys burned us, but it wasn't the same for Ole Miss.

Sounds crazy, but it seems that Henderson thrives when guys are all over him. Maybe he sees is as more of a challenge…no idea

Man, it felt so good to stick it to that punk Henderson today. ZERO points in the second half for him.

    GO GATORS!!!!!

Prather did seem to have trouble finishing at the rim, but he got fouled every time he entered the lane with very few called.

My thoughts exactly! Prather missed some easy layups but got mugged all day in the lane.

I thought the officials called it both ways, but we were attacking the rim more and taking a beating. I am all for letting them play but today was a blood bath in the lane .

Exactly. They were mugging anybody and everybody in the lane, from my POV.

But they did anticipate when we would put the ball on the floor in the paint, anticipated the shot (if not stealing the ball), and disrupted frequently. We need to watch out for that.

And, Henderson . . . was Henderson, but he was able to steal the ball a couple of times, and disrupt passes for other guys to get the TO. Our passing was not as crisp as it could have been at times.

But hey, we took over and won. Great game, super win, and still, plenty of learning points.

I admit to being more of a football guy, but I do watch our boys play hoops every year. Without a doubt, it is refreshing to see us strong in the 2nd half. More times than not the last couple of years, we have let too many games slip out of our teeth at the end. This year is much more improved in that area.

We did a good job on Henderson by mixing it up in the 2nd half instead of having Wilbekin chase him around screens the whole time, but we still let them get too many easy layups.

Our coaches make the best halftime adjustments of any team in basketball. Secondly, our seniors man up at crunch time whether we are at home or on the road. That combination is lethal. This team is special.

If we hit threes like we did today, we'll be hard to beat.

I was listening to the radio and Billy said at the half that we weren't putting Henderson "under duress" . He conceded that he was going to get his shots and make quite a few but was angry that we weren't hassling him enough. Thats why Billy is so good. To defend a guy like Henderson, you have to do so unconventionally. We had to improve our FT shooting, we have. We have to guard the 3 better, we're starting to.

Really impressed with Wilbekin. He just takes over. Now, if only PY would box out a lot more……imo, we're unbeatable when we rebound. Thankfully Ol Miss blew tons of 2nd and 3rd chance shots in the 2nd half.
