As first reported by Orangebloods, Texas players have been told Manny Diaz is out and Greg Robinson is in as DC

In the offseason Texas hired Greg Robinson as an analyst to scout opponent film. He's been living in L.A., and was planning to only attend home games. Now that will obviously change. Greg was the DC for Texas in 2004.

Desperate move by former Nole, Mack Brown.

Texas will looking for a new HC at the end of 2013.

This is always the way. Start firing assistants, it's all their fault (even though you hired them), and you can hang on as HC for at least the rest of the multi-million-dollar year.

Just like any job, if you don't meet performance expectations after a certain amount of time, you are let go.

Glad to see fans/boosters over at UT not settling with the status quo.

How Greg Robinson keeps getting jobs is beyond me. He is the worst defensive coordinator I have ever seen besides Sal Sunseri.

Does seem like a Bowden situation, he made the decision to fire he DC after viewing tapes of the game on the ride home and noticing no adjustments were made.

What the hell was he doing during the game?

    Maybe he's Lane Kiffin's illegitimate half-brother.

No way. He bailed on them and has had a poor offense at UF. They probably think they dodged a bullet ... And I'm a muschamp fan.

Maybe Texas simply doesn't have the horses to play defense. Diaz was a hot commodity running Mullen's defense at MSU.

I thought Manny was great in I Love Lucy, not sure why he got into coaching.

Now, Coach Brown is a coach you CAN say the game has passed by. He doesn't coach anything, so if his coaches are bad, that means HE is bad. They have been terrible.

Hard to believe Brown could last past this season, especially if the Aggies have success. Of course I thought the same thing last year.

Texas needs to keep Mack Brown for he is the most over-rated Coach in the history of the game. Mack and Texas goes together like peanut butter and jelly.

That's interesting. That could happen because Saban has shown he has no loyalty to anywhere he's been. If Texas offers him a ton more money than Alabama pays him, he sure would consider it.

And somewhere I saw it mentioned that Texas might consider Muschamp. I doubt that would happen. He was there "coach in waiting" but when he decided he didn't want to wait forever for Mack to retire he took the opportunity to leave the Longhorns and come to UF. Since he grew up in Gainesville in his early years and saw Gator games, I think that even helped him make a fast decision. Had an emotional pull. And of course I doubt Texas and their big ego would go after a guy who left them to go elsewhere.

Meh, Saban is on top of the world right now. Why would he leave that? Money? Doubt he's in need of more money. And even if they did offer him some crazy number, Bama would just match it. They will do anything for wins.
