Behind the #s and what the media is "hiding" and "not reporting". Helps explain the lackluster economy.

    http://news.yahoo.com/temporary-jobs-becoming-permanent-fixture-140133833.html

"Temps typically receive low pay, few benefits and scant job security. That makes them less likely to spend freely, so temp jobs don't tend to boost the economy the way permanent jobs do. More temps and contract workers also help explain why pay has barely outpaced inflation since the recession ended."

Don't you think it's a bit ridiculous to post an AP story and then claim the media isn't reporting it?

Have you seen any analysis of recent job gains on CNN, MSNBC, Mother Earth or any of your preferred publications? What about CBS, ABC, NBC? NY Times? Washington Post?

These libbie lefty Public Relations firms are quick to trumpet anything that makes Obama policies look like could be working. Those of us not sucking down government checks or relying on our neighbors to pay our tab, know that is not the case.

Worst recovery ever outside of DC and Wall Street. Government-funded bureaucrats love it.

if the economy is booming like liberals proclaim, why aren't employers hiring millions more full time workers to support all this new economic activity?

Why would you want to announce that you do not understand how business works?

It's not and only the fat cat Wall Street guys are getting rich. QE 3 can be given credit for a good amount of that. Other than that we have an ever shrinking middle class, inflated prices on normal every day needed goods, and healthcare that is getting more expensive when it was supposed to get cheaper....

I am sorry but does anyone think 195k jobs keeps up with population growth? Obamas policies have stifled buiness growth and it shows by the rather low participation rate.

I don't think the Affordable Care Act has much to do with it. Just like with outsourcing it's simply another way for companies to be more profitable. I watched the rise of temp hires at Microsoft long before the ACA was around.

I knew you'd just dismiss this with some anecdotal story of some sort. You're beginning to sound like Obama.

Newsflash: It's because of Obama-care/tax. Companies might hire again, not that the POTUS rewrote the law, again, to wait until 2014 to implement the employer mandate.

Do you think the next Pub POTUS should be able to rewrite laws... already on the books... like Obama is doing, too?

You think it's Obama's fault? I never would have guessed that. It must be because he's a commie along with all the other liberals.

You think companies are going to start hiring full-time workers again because Obama provided a 1 year delay on requiring the small fraction of major employers who don't already provide employee health benefits to do so?

Doesn't that suggestion (that the 1 year might make a difference) contradict the past three years of yelling about how employers weren't hiring because of fear of something that was more than 1 year away from going into effect then?

    Not that much,
but companies might stop the layoffs and reduced hours, yes.

I think we'd see a booming economy right now if we had anyone but Obama and Obama-care/tax.

Think about where hiring is in the process of accepting new business.
