This has a celebrity spin to it, so I’ll add:

I played tennis a few times with Paul Gleason ... Principal from Breakfast Club.

I’ve been out drinking with Rodman a couple times. It’s not as fun as it sounds.

I had a verbal confrontation with OJ Simpson in the Bahamas. This was after his murder trial.

I’m pretty sure my pal @ArtVandelay saw Joe DiMaggio at Dinky Donut. He supposedly dunked.

I came across a murder/suicide on the way to tend our pigs at the high school farm. Yes. My high school had a farm.

    Haha!
It was back when I was 11 or 12. I didn’t have the arsenal of Principal Vernon jokes I do now.
    I’d have driven him crazy!

You were the first one to find the scene?

I held the Florida state record for striped bass for about 2 weeks in the early 70's when I was 12. They had stocked them in Lake Talquin and mine weighed 9 lbs 10.5 oz. I entered it into a contest that lasted for a month and I lead that category for 2 weeks up until the last day or so and some guy entered one weighing a few ounces more. I got a FL Master Angler certificate for it. At least it wasn't a Master Baiter award

Not quite. I was going with my brother to check on our pigs. We were both too young to drive so our mother drove us. We were headed out of town on a lonely 2-lane road. We could see a car ahead parked on the side of the road, its driver's door open. Another car was maybe 50 yards ahead of us going in the same direction as us. They slowed, then turned around and stopped opposite the parked car. Then we got there and saw the guy sprawled half in the car, his head on the pavement. Blood. On the front seat lying in the opposite direction was a young woman. More blood. A handgun was on the seat.
Cops decided the guy shot the girl, then turned the gun on himself. Looked just the opposite to me. It sure looked like he was trying to get away.

Upon graduation I was the all time assist leader at my high school.
20+ years later when I see my coach he still tells everyone it was because I couldn't score the ball.
(My career high in points and assists in a game were both 19)

I have been honored to be in the presence of two US Presidents (Though not while in office) Carter and Dubya.
Dubya signed a baseball for me at a Rangers spring training game in Port Charlotte when I was a kid and his daddy was POTUS.
It is on the shelf in my little boys room.

I can dunk on an 11 ft rim...if it is lowered to it's proper 10 ft height... and then lowered two more feet.

I do not have a degree from UF (gasp!) I was accepted but chose a different path that has worked out very well.

I was at the legendary Monday night game in the Orange Bowl when the Fins beat Da Super Bowl Shufflin' Bears.

One woman has seen fit to keep me for 18 years.

    Ugh.
    That’ll stick with ya.

Several years ago I walked into the lobby of my then office building... moments after a guy jumped from the 12th floor and into said lobby. I and a few others were the first to arrive. I couldn’t sleep at all for several days.
And I never walked into the lobby again. Took a back entry into my office every day after.

Memory is a tenuous thing, but snapshots like these get tattooed on the brain, don't they?

I was part of the hooters team that opened up new stores all over the country for 2 years in the early 90s. It was a hard job interviewing new employees at every location but someone had to do and by golly I went full boar into that job

I had a gun stuck in my face and was robbed. Scared hell out of me and all the things I thought I might do up till that point didn't come to mind with a gun a few inches from the center my eyes.

I never had to see what you did, but to your point, I remember one of many trips to Disney up I-75 as a kid and we came across a car that went under a tractor trailer. On the ground was one sheet over a body and another over what looked like a basketball.

Both bloody and never to be forgotten.

I had a cop aim his gun at my face in my bedroom and he was ready to shoot. My alarm system had gone off accidentally, as I informed the alarm company. I didn't expect a cop to come in the house and corner me.

I, admittedly from my parents, broke through birth control as a merely sperm lol. Scored 13 goals in my first game of soccer. Played on the local travel (select, or team you have to try out for in layman's terms) 10 year old soccer team at 7 years old and led the team in scoring and assists. Went to Vegas and placed 2nd nationally with the Gainesville Rampage team in 3v3 soccer. Was a counselor at soccer camp at the age of 9 and was kicked out of another camp for being too good and making the other kids feel bad. Was ranked 81st in the world in my favorite game NCAA Football and top 200 in the world in my second favorite game FIFA. Also got to shoot some hoops with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller as a kid, because my babysitter at the time was dating Mike. Also gave some medicinal herbs and was friends with some football players that got to play in the NFL.

What I'm most proud of though is helping some of my friends and classmates through tough times, by being there for emotional support and by sharing my knowledge of the world that was forced upon me at ayoung age. Also helping classmates get good grades on our math final by teaching them for a small amount of time. And am very excited to teach and be there for my son on the way, who I will no doubt have watching me juggle and play with a soccer ball in hopes of a better outcome than mine.
