Good news indeed.
That's very good news. It's also a little surprising based on what I see in my area.
Lower teen birth is great, if it isn't largely attributable to more meat for the abortion abattoir. Let's see the number of children born to a wedded biological mother and father go up, that will be really good news.
Very true on that part indeed. The other news is good--but this would be a real step in the right direction.
the drop is attributed to birth control. and i agree on the wedded parents.
The bad news is that the disparity between the races are still huge. A Black or Latino teen is nearly 2.5 times more likely to give birth than a White teen. The good news on that front is their Black and Latino birth rate is falling even faster than among Whites.
From the CDC:
more birth control and more planned parenting(via Planned Parenthood, religions, parents, etc) = less abortions
prior to Obama's first term as POTUS even started, he approached religious groups, etc to see about working together in this area on measures he and the groups agree upon. He sought to emphasize that though he and the groups disagree on some things should not prevent them from working together in areas in which both agree. A concept GOP in congress doesn't practice
Looks like that approach 'may' be working
Very good news.
It's time for your meds, old.
Bad news for the producers of MTV's Teen Mom though. There's always losers.
Interesting enough, many are claiming that MTV's exposure is a big contributing factor.
For instance: A force behind the lower teen birthrate: MTV's '16 and Pregnant'
Pretty interesting given much of the criticism leveled at the show by its critics was that it "glorified" teen pregnancy and made kids want to get pregnant.
my daughter watched that and i sat in a few times. i didn't see much glory
Interesting and disturbing that all the baby killers are pleased with their success.
malligator---time for you to pull your head out. And take your personal attacks on me and shove them up there.
If you want to trade personal insults---go for it and prove just how much an anus you are
Good news on the surface, as long as abortions aren't the reason for it.
I have a feeling many of the show's critics have never actually seen it. But I think some of the people on the show have been tabloid fare and pseudo-celebrities with their 15 minutes of fame, so they are probably coming from that angle: "get preganant and be famous."
