I'm not saying throw it deep 10 times a game, just more than twice which is what they did Saturday. ...and neither of those were deep. ..nice intermediate stuff. ..25 yard crossing patterns and such. Hopefully the offense opens up a little this weekend. Tired of hearing we don't have the talent for it. That's a load of b.s..it's coaching scheme or strategy.

We had several calls on for deep throws, but Driskel checked down. As to talent, who of our receivers would you say can beat a jam at the line and get past his corner downfield? Dunbar and his 4.6? The 230 lbs. converted QB Burton? Solomon Patton?

I hear he goes buff, but that is just further proof that he isn't committed to throwing the ball downfield.

I see plenty of other teams with far less talent with young qbs throw the ball around a little bit. ..

On a different note. ...I'm coming from upstate N.Y. to the Florida-Georgia game. ..tix on stub hub and other sites are outrageously priced. ..wondering what my best option is for tickets. ..buying them outside day of the game from a scalper?

It's not about going deep, it's about having the ball travel more than 5 yards in the air. Seriously, we need more intermediate passig

I'm not a Boise expert, but the three games I watched them, I don't remember them throwing downfield, AT ALL. They were basically a West coast passing attack.

How does their talent compare with their competition level? Our receiver talent is much better than the corners of Toledo, but why spend our time doing things against them that won't be successful against LSU or SC or FSU? You run your basic packages without much personnel-specific or scheme-specific planning against Toledo, then expand that package with personnel-specific or scheme-specific stuff against your league competition.

I think people are a little brain washed into thinking we don't have the talent to throw down field cause we just don't do it. .just saying that I think we do but don't cause we play offense ULTRA conservatively! Too much so.

But that doesn't satisfy our entitlement to have the team score a half a hundred.

With the way we run the ball, play action should be deadly all over the field. ..including down field. ...

What is that talent, then? Who comprises it? I personally don't see it, at least not enough to do so against higher level competition.

I think this is largely a misnomer. One of the reasons we run the ball so effectively is that we use unbalanced formations and heavy packages that you can't pass out of very well. When we shift into our wide formations, teams check to pass coverage, which ordinarily is some form of zone, either cover two, cover three, or zone dog. The better your receivers are, the easier it is to take advantage of man coverage, but I don't see many on our team who can beat anyone deep.

12 years now, six offensive coordinators, five starting quarterbacks, three head coaches later and it is still more of the same. I feel like I should be wearing jean shorts, listening to "alternative" music, and using dialup.

Guys, if you aren't tripping and falling head over heals in love with this offense, then you aren't a true gator. We won and that's all that matters. The fans leaving because they're bored, the wide receiver recruits that watched us throw to the flats all day, and the fact that if we get a penalty the drive is over because we're off schedule is irrelavent because we won and that's what championship football is all about. Muschamp is putting his stamp on the program, let him do his thing and quit whining!
