Not much has been mentioned about him but I think he's a real sleeper. Two great catches that I saw, while others may have more talent or are highly rated, I think this guy will see playing time.

I hope the kid gets a chance, as I’m told he’s a hard worker who’s willing to grind it out. I think last year was the first year he earned a scholarship. Despite going to high school in Tennessee, he comes from a Gator family. His sister Kara, graduated from UF, was a beat reporter for the men’s basketball team and currently works as a video editor for the Atlanta Hawks.

These walk-ons splash in the spring, but rarely do you see them contribute outside of the scout team in the fall.

Some just don’t get the opportunity. Trask almost didn’t.

Our WR room is pretty thin so he should have a shot to crack the 3 deep maybe.

The question is has he been doing it all spring long or just the last scrimmage? If he has been doing it all spring long, he better get a shot, as he looked like a real gamer and difference maker.

Trask wasn’t a walk on though.

He played a little last year and could crack the rotation. He seems to catch whatever is thrown his way. If he is a backup, that would be the second former walk-on to play regularly. That says something!

  11. Remember that Kahleil Jackson was a walk-on QB in the same class as Anthony Richardson. Jackson only had one offer as QB, and it came from Jackson State before they hired Deion Sanders. Kahleil chose to grind it out as a walk-on at his family’s alma mater, then switched to receiver after two years on campus—a position he never played.

I think Spierto will contribute as a depth piece, and we might see another walk-on earn a scholarship.

Looks like this guy is a gamer. Some guys just elevate in the big moments.

Played high school football at Franklin High School… Was all-region, starting at wide receiver and free safety… Senior year had 54 receptions for 914 yards, 10 touchdowns and in addition to posting 63 tackles… Caught the game winning TD pass with 4 seconds left to help his team to the state quarterfinals… In the state quarterfinals finished with 246 receiving yards and two TD’s… Also played basketball and earned all-region honors… Was a starting guard that lead his team to 24 straight victories to sub state and district title with a state ranking of No. 4 in the regular season… Named Gateway Athlete of the week for Williamson County for both basketball and football.

Looks like a guy who does things the way Napier wants things to go. Probably plays some, especially during comfortable wins, to show the higher ceiling receivers what a truly bought-in player looks like.

He might surprise us and play more, some guys have a knack for getting open, and if he can block he will see the field.

Rarely is operative term according to Chris Doering.
No denying the kid is an athlete with good hands.

It’s a really bad sign if he gets legit PT. No reason why Wilson/mizell/jean/jackson/dike/hawkins/Abrams shouldn’t be ahead of him. And I’m hoping we add a WR in the portal still too.

    plus Burke and even Frazier.

Agreed..he will get some catches against lower tier competition, but will not stress the better DBs. I guess his performance is a reflection of how bad out 2nd/3rd string DBs are.

He can be good despite what others do. Stars don’t mean shit at this point.
