Good point about the CC'rs having a more passive mindset. It's like the guy who's 6'5" 240 & in good shape.

    Interesting story.

I work out of my home, and yesterday, while I was outside, two black youths, both in their teens, were walking down my street. I was on my carport working on my customer's car and I heard one of them yell out. I didn't pay it any minds, teenage kids do that all the time, but they stopped at the end of my driveway and one of them kept saying "sir! sir!" at me.

I stopped working and looked at the street and the smaller of the two kids (they were both about 16 and 17 I guess), started saying something to me about the car I was working on. Then they started walking up my driveway, and without a doubt, it went through my mind about white people who'd been assaulted all in the name of "justice for Trayvon".

Interestingly enough, I was wearing my gun, fully visible open carry btw (I can do that on my own property and I do it all the time), and I knew they saw it, but they continued to advance up my drive and so I stopped the entire situation then and there.

I held up my hand as in a stop motion and they slowed down and I told them "No thanks. You kids move along now. Have a great day".

And that was it, they left and one of them even said back "You too" (have a great day).

Problem averted and no harm done to anyone. I honestly don't believe the kids were really up to any bad to be honest, but overall, the point is had Zimmerman had some sort of tactical training, he might have been able to prevent Martin from starting a fight.

I don't get the point of this story. Your gun protects you from polite kids?

Considering the climate of threats and intentions following the trial--yes it does protect him from polite kids or thugs or whatever may come along. Perhaps you have a gift which allows you to discern the intent of all those coming into contact with you....for those of us who can't know what the intent is in all cases, the gun will interpret for us.

I have no gift, maybe just different thresholds for what constitutes a threat. I find it peculiar that people are defending a person warding kids off with a gun who were admittedly being polite.

Considering this response, I'll wager most things you read pretty much sail right over your head.

For which he was not cross examined. It is a self serving statement. The other guy is dead and cannot contradict him.

    LMAO!

Folks, please allow me to introduce you to the stereo-typical liberal mindset... hear a story, and then lie, twist it, and add to it until it fits your political agenda.

He sounds like your typical liberal mainstream media reporter. Hilarious.

And again the dispatcher tried to get him back to the car and to stop playing cop. I wish he/she was more assertive. Like, "Get the fcuk back in your car and stop playing cop or you're going to get charged with ... impeding the investigation".

    Your words:

"I was wearing my gun, fully visible"

    "I knew they saw it"

    Warded: Guard; protect.

You made a point of your gun being fundamental to this story. Not me.

The rest of your presumptuous political babble is pointless to address.

:grin: Good one, Ken! I thought the M1A2 is a two person tank. Did you buy the DIY aftermarket kit that turns it into a one person tank? You're a lucky man! I only have a M50 mounted in the back of my truck! Of course I have made a few mods myself ;).

I fully support the right to carry a concealed weapon, but some of the paranoia Im reading in this thread is kinda disturbing. I dont think I could ever live my life with that mind set, and I've seen and experienced some pretty crazy things living in Miami.
